    Xbox one x hdd replacement, OS is lost


    My Xbox x hdd has been damaged now I brought hdd new one but no operating system I watch many videos from YouTube for how to create xbox one hdd.

    I done exactly same thing First I start XBOX HDD Master Tool to create partition then I copy osu1 file to system update folder with creating A folder and B folder then I move updater.Xvd file to system update folder after I finish this I put back to xbox
    one x then power on I can see all menus but it getting failed when updating from 58 percent also I tried usb update using osu1 still failing from 58 percent please help me

    Thoughts of HDD not being replaceable?

    No matter what size the HDD was, if it breaks you'd have to replace the system as the OS is on the HDD

    So just saw changing my Xbox 1 internal storage is # Modifying my system....

    They have authorized repair facilities but as mentioned before by George either they replace the hdd or replace the unit altogether

    You can't download the Xbox os onto your own hdd I don't think you understand that

    Putting your own drive in won't work because it won't boot up now loading the os into a non offical hdd is modification

    Now are you replacing the hdd cause of hdd errors or just because you are out of space

    Self repair isnt allowed to be discussed on forums

    As.mentioned they have fo be formated a certain way

    But if you remove the HDD or replace it you get asked to download the system update again. Meaning at least part of the OS is stored on the HDD.

    Games on an external drive should be fine most likely it will show a brief "installing" message as it validates the game data.

    Opening the console and replacing the internal hard drive is not something I believe that Microsoft supports you doing. There are sites that show you how to do it and supply the "correct" HDD type.

    Consoles can be banned if it is detected that they have different hardware inside them than belongs in them so you could have unexpected results from replacing the internal hard drive.
