Xbox one x have surge protector, but can it be damaged from hdmi from TV that dosnt have?

I didnt know it was important to have a surge protector that can protect the xbox from power losses in the house, that u can get power spikes when the power return.

The question is if the electrical items get damaged from this, would xbox be still fine since it have built in surge protector, or could it be damaged since it’s connected with lan cable and hdmi, since the router and tv dosnt have surge protector?

Yes thats the big question, since microsoft make xbox with inbuilt surge protector it would sound wierd that it still can take damage, if the tv or router get power spike from power outage, and from that it transfered into xbox from lan cable or hdmi cable,
so if the surge protector can protect it completly then it cant be connected to tv/routers without surge protection?

Just a though that i got after i have had two power outage last week because someone work in the area. So im not sure if the xbox is safe or not when this power outage happens.

We also have overvoltage protector in our fusebox in the house, that dosnt protect our items at all when it comes to power outage? Just protect on lightningstrike?

There is nominal voltage moving between the HDMI ports on your TV and Xbox, so could it happen? Sure, if it took an overwhelming surge it might, but I'd call you probability pretty obscenely low, like less than a 1% chance.

Good night. Its very important to protect youre console. If you protect those the router tv and Xbox dont have problem.

Thanks for clearing things up Now i know it’s safe at least. Do you know why it dosnt stand in the manual that xbox have in built surge protector? I found it out on google because they say u should not use a surge protector on the xbox, because it could
suffer from using 2x protectors if u added one into the outlet in the house.

I think it’s real great, a small surge protector does not cost mutch to have it inbuilt vs what it could cost us users if the accident are out
