XBox One X has started shutting down due to overheating/ventilation

My XBox has started to frequently shut down due to ventilation issues. However, after the first couple of times, I blew it out and moved it. I built a stand that places it above my monitors on a platform. It sits on raised blocks, as well. So it has excellent airflow on all sides. Short of opening the device, there is no visible dust/detritus in any of the vented areas.

So now I'm certain this issue is not airflow-related or dust-related (as far as the eye can see). It is an Xbox One X and so does not have an external power brick. The device is sitting as opposed to standing vertically. It is not near any vents or anything else that would provide heat. The house is kept around 70° F and the unit is not in direct sunlight.

I'm curious as to whether anyone else has dealt with this and, if so, how did you fix the issue?

While the Xbox One X can be placed either horizontally or vertically, the horizontal position offers the most stability.

The proper stand is required when using the Xbox One X console in the vertical position. The stand, which is sold separately or as part of a bundle, is different for each. Make sure you use only the stand designed for your Xbox, which helps console stability and operation. Without the stand, vertical positioning blocks a cooling vent.

Also, if the console overheats and shuts down, this likely means that your console is getting too hot, and you may need to adjust its placement or remove items that may be blocking vents.

If your console consistently shuts down due to ventilation problems, even after the console is free from clutter and no vents are obstructed, it needs service. You can request a repair from Device Services. Console registration is required to service your console.

Check the ventilation on the system. If it is overheating, you should get a warning message before the system shuts down. If you do, turn off the console and wait at least an hour. Make sure the Xbox
One has enough ventilation and try again. If this persists, contact Microsoft.
