    Xbox One X hard crashes when attempting to "free up space" - Beta Preview ring


    This has been an issue for a while now and is still present in the latest beta build. Attempting to access the "free up space" screen in Storage immediately hard crashes the console with my external drive plugged in.

    Yes, I have Rock Band 4 installed with all the DLC. I know that still causes numerous issues on this console that apparently wasn't designed to handle that much content.

    You have to be in the insider preview to download the avatar beta app. It works on the original Xbox One, the Xbox One S and Xbox One X. It is not rolled out by console model but by which Insider Preview ring you are in. It has now been rolled out to all
    rings.

    Insider Preview has Alpha Skip Ahead, Alpha, Beta, Delta and Omega rings. Alpha Skip Ahead and Alpha are invite only from the development team. You can use any Xbox One family of console in any of the rings.

    Hi,

    At the moment the new Xbox Avatar Beta is available to those in Alpha - Skip Ahead, Alpha, and Beta. When you open the Xbox Insider Hub, it should show under announcements the ring your console is currently enrolled in, can you double check to make sure
    its within one of those rings listed. If so, it should show under 'Insider content' with the option to enroll in the app beta.

    If you need to change the ring you're currently enrolled in, please go into 'Insider content'>Xbox One Update Preview>Manage. You will be given access to the rings you are currently eligible for.

    Let us know if it still not showing after checking your preview ring.

    xbox insider hub has not given me any new rings yet

    Hi,

    you can change rings in the xbox insider hub when yo manage the xbox update preview rings note that alpha and alpha skip ahead are invite only but you should be able to join the beta ring

    Xbox Series X Civ 6 crashing every other turn

    I think it may be fixed finally. I just downloaded an update on the Beta ring as an Xbox insider and played crash free over multiple turns. This was on a game I've been trying to finish over 2 months now, that was crashing multiple times per turn.
    This is in Beta ring. How long does it take to go GA from Beta? I assume it needs to pass Delta and Omega first? Another 3-6 months?
