    I bought my Xbox One X (Scorpio Edition) about a year and some months ago. However lately I've had a problem with games freezing and crashing. First, it started with Metro Exodus. It would freeze (Sound would still work oddly) and I'd have to restart the
    game every few hours. Then I started having a freezing issue with ACR on the Ezio collection. The game would freeze at random times and when I'd go to the dashboard to restart it my Xbox would shut off with the power down bing as well. now I'm having an issue
    with assassin's creed black flag. The game will freeze every 2 or 3 minutes for a few seconds and then continue running, but the sound would be out of sync. This problem persists with games on my internal hdd and external hdd. I have noticed that all the games
    I've had issues with are on disc, but that wouldn't matter, right? The Xbox just uses the disc as verification correct?

    I have tried the following fixes (none have worked)

    Factory reset my console 3 times already

    Changed external drives (To test my internal drive)

    Hard Reset my console

    Changed it to a power outlet in the wall (Like I've been recommended to do)

    I've even reinstalled the games giving me issues

    Nothing seems to be working. My warranty is no longer in date either so I can't get a replacement, and the repair prices Microsoft is charging is ridiculous (I'm sorry but charging
    $250 for a problem that might just be replacing the internal HDD or installing a new heatsink or fan seems to be way too high..)

    Are there any other options or fixes I can try? I really don't want to buy a new Xbox One X (Especially with Scarlett line coming in a year or two) I play on a 4K monitor with HDR support and I've tried different video setting too. Unfortunately, nothing
    changes the crashing and freezing. This oddly sounds like an internal drive issue or possibly an overheating issue. I'm almost tempted to replace the internal drive myself and finding the OS for the Xbox one to download on a flash drive and install the Xbox
    OS on the new internal drive. I have a WD CB hdd just sitting around. Worth the risk? I'm very familiar with replacing hardware components on computers and reinstalling OSs.

    Are you on an Xbox One X, by chance? There were some known issues in Metro Exodus with crashing and freezing on the Xbox One X, sadly. Hopefully these issues will be getting patched very soon.

    I too have this freezing issue on a regular xbox one x, it happens while playing games or in the dashboard, freezes on both enhanced and non enhanced games, i hope it is just a software glitch that can be fixed as I really don't want to be downloading everything
    again.

    I've been having the same issue. On Xbox One X it gets stuck/freezes on loading. After several attempts I left it on the frozen loading screen.. after 10 mins it loads in correctly.
    May I ask how you stayed on the frozen loading screen? Ten seconds after freezing on my Xbox One X the game just quits out. I cant stay on the frozen screen for long.
