    My current problem with my xbox one x is that my game captures are never consistent. I try to record 1/2/5 minute clips but they cut short between 2-15 seconds or just never save at all. It usually captures only the first few second of the 1/2/5 minute clips
    depending on which setting is selected.

    I was switched ALL of the settings around hoping something would work. I tested different clip lengths, having it upload right away versus me uploading it later manually, used quick X "record what happened" button and going to the capture&share tab while
    manually selecting my clip length.

    I record in 720p the allow myself to have the longest possible videos but rarely ever record at the 5 mins. I usually record with 1 or 2 minutes. Both the short and long videos have problems.

    Yes, i have plenty of room on my xbox. Over 500gbs left. I have also deleted most of my clips from xbox live and the physical xbox just in case it was a memory issue.

    No i am not saving cut scenes. Most of the games i play are apex, call of duty, rainbow six siege and other first person shooters. Surprisingly, it does not problem recording the lobbies but the second you get in game, no clips.

    Things that i have found that guarantee your clip not to save

    -using the xbox home button to see if the clip saved. 9 times out of 10 the clip DOESN'T save at all. The xbox will notify my that the clip has saved and that i should share it with my friends but it never shows up in my captures.

    -using the home button at all will cut the clip to the 2-15seconds as well

    -trying to record multiple clips too close together (if they are within the same 20-30minute span, one clip is GUARANTEED to be cut short)

    This is a glitch in xbox's system and has been for at least as long as the Xbox One X has been out.

    Have you tried the other options, including power cycling your console?
    I am having the same problem with the clips described above with one additional factor.

    I have attempted to start recording in advance of my gameplay in the hopes I could just edit out what I didn't want, but those are also failing to record. If they do record anything its usually 15 second max and very random periods of time in my playtime.

    I have also attempted the troubleshooting steps and have even factory reset my console once thinking that might help.

    Yes. I have power recycled my xbox many, many times. I might get one or two clips but usually i have to do it multiple times, losing many clips in between. It works about 20% of the time.

    I have looked over lots of troubleshooting threads on different websites including Microsoft. A lot of people seem to have the same problem and they keep getting the same responses. I have tried all the troubleshooting tips but they are only bandages and
    not very good ones.

    Hi guys,

    I'm having the same issue that I can see a lot of people are having and no-one seems to be providing any answers.

    The fact is that this isn't to do with the settings as the length of the clip changes every time and only very rarely records the clip correctly.

    I have tried by quick capturing and also by manually changing the capture time frame but regardless of what I pick the clip ends up being around 4-9 seconds long.

    Very frustrating.
