    Xbox One X freezes & crashes on some games


    Hi, i'm facing some freezes with console crashes on some games.

    Should this be an Hardware Error?

    My Situation:

    Games like Gears 5 and Forza Horizon 4, Battlefield V, Apex Legends, ... are working very well and smooth in 4k.

    I have problems with Red Dead Redemption 2 (from disk) and Metro Exodus (downloaded from store).

    These games are starting, but on the beginning of the intro sequence (ingame) the games are freezing.

    Then nothing happens and i'm pressing the Xbox Button to go to the homescreen.

    Then the console shuts down itself.

    The console stands free on a large place.

    I've started the console and then i tried to play the games.

    No other apps were started before.

    The temperature of the console is cool - no heat.

    Powermode is set to "energy-saving".

    My tested possible solutions:

    Putting the Xbox One X AC adapter directly to the wall.

    Softreset of the console.

    Deleting local files.

    New installation of these games.

    Shutting down the console and taken it from the energy for 15 minutes to clear caches.

    I've tried installation of these games on internal HDD and external SSD.

    None of these actions had an success.

    Have you an idea whats happen on my console?

    Are you on an Xbox One X, by chance? There were some known issues in Metro Exodus with crashing and freezing on the Xbox One X, sadly. Hopefully these issues will be getting patched very soon.

    Are you playing on Xbox 360 or Xbox One (and if Xbox One, is it the One, One S, or One X)?

    According to many posts online, it seems as though Fable Anniversary is prone to crashes and freezing. Unfortunately I was unable to find much in the way of a fix for freezing, although some people reported uninstalling and reinstalling helped, and someone
    else reported that the issue seemed to fix itself after not playing the game for a day.

    Hello BjörnBlank!

    When you reset your console... Did you go with the "keep my games and apps" option or "Delete everything" option?

    If you haven't already done so, I would suggest the "Delete everything" option. That's the most extreme troubleshooting tool that you can attempt before having to have your console serviced / repaired. Let us know!

    Try holding down the power button on the xbx and make sure your xbx is plugged into the main socket and not on adaptor and make sure you have enough ventilation

    No, I'm not sure but I didn't see anyone else complaining about these issues on developer forums or anywhere else. I only found a similar complaint on this forum posted a year ago and with no final solution or any firm conclusions about the cause. It doesn't
    seem to be a wide spread problem.

    Well, at worst we will know if it WAS a mechanical issue :/
