Xbox One X flickering Screen HDR

My brand new Xbox one x is flickering all the time. It started when playing Forza 7 but is now doing it on home screen and other HDR games. If I switch off the HDR it seems to stop. I’m using a Sony XBR-A1E that supports HDR 10.

Is anyone else having same issue? How do you fix it? Is this a software thing or do I need to swap out the Xbox?

Just started playing this and noticing on the title screen (with the sign), there is flickering in the brightest parts of the clouds when using hdr. I’ve also noticed in certain areas there’s like a white flicker when I rotate the camera. From reading various forums I know hdr in this game is not the best, but I’m trying to find out if it’s the game, my hdr settings or my new tv. I’m playing on Xbox One X in hdr on LG C8.

I have the same issue with my Samsung KS9090 + Xbox One S. When I play Destiny I notice screen flickering in the character screen- and only when I choose 4K+10Bit color. All the other games and HDR Blu Rays are running fine in 4K and HDR, except Destiny.

 

I also upgraded from the Xbox One to Xbox One X, but after using it for a while (on the same games), i also have the problem that sometimes the screen turns black, and comes back on again. Troublesome when fighting your foes in Assassins Creed, or racing
in Forza Motorsport 7. When i play a normal Xbox One game, that does not have HDR, the screen remains normal and does not go black.

At first i thought it was the HDMI cable supplied to the console, but i just returned home after buying a Monster 4K HDMI cable, and i still have the same problem. The strange thing is the first week of use, i never had this problem

Setup:

Xbox One X.

Monster Ultra HD Black Platinum 3 meter cable.

LG OLED 65E6V 3D UHD TV.

I did not changed settings on the console or on the TV, HDR is turned ON for HDMI socket 1 (the one i use for the Xbox One X) and like i said before, i did not had this problem for a week, and also not moved the tv/console.

So like you, i also am awaiting for the answer to this problem.

 

are you using the supplied cable or are you using a third party hdmi cable

If not hdmi 1.4 and gold plated you need to purchase one hdr takes a lot of bandwidth if you are using a hdmi splitter then you need to directly connect to the tv

The more a signal is split the less bandwidth you have

 

I found my problem: At some point i have checked the option "Allow YCC 4:2:2" at Display & sound/Advanced video settings. After unchecking, my 4K/HDR games work fine, and no more connection loss with my TV. So be sure to see if it is checked. When you select
this option, the Xbox explains that this option will help out 4K problems with some tv's. Since mine has no problems with this option unchecked, it does not need to be turned on.

I hope this info also helps out other gamers. So if your tv does not work properly with 4K HDR games with this option unchecked, you might try to turn this option on, and see if that helps.
