    Xbox One X flickering and black screening in 4K after 11/17 system update


    I got an Xbox One X Scorpio at launch and have been using it with my new Samsung 4K UHD TV. Everything has been fine running in 4K for all titles until I got the system update on 11/17 that I believe was supposed to fix a Bluray 4K problem and now I have
    regular flicking and black screening while running in 4K. This issue is happening on both the Xbox Home screen and in games and apps. Prior to this system update I had no issues at all and everything was running smoothly. This has made my console essentially
    unusable in 4K. I have already tried hard rebooting it and swapping out HDMI cables etc. to make sure it is not a cable problem.

    update: if microsoft got on the ball now we could have our 17th anniversary XBOX original consoles in 2017 this christmas (since XBOX ONE X is 11/7/2017 release then how about XBOX original re-release for 12/17/2017 for 17 anniversary (think is 17 years

    XB1 doesn't like my Sony tv, what a suprise !

    UPDATE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Ok after about a month of scouring the net on a possible solution I think I've finally cracked it..........

    My problem was that I was getting a black flickering screen on my Sony Bravia KDL40S5500 whenever my Sky HD box was plugged into the back of my Xbox one, not all the time but more often than not.

    After doing the steps that I will post in a link down below, I have no longer got the problem of the screen flickering black .

    Give it a go and let me know your outcome people.

    Hopefully it works for you guys and gals too.

    So far its been on 2 hours at the time of typing this and not one flicker yet

    The almost exact same thing is happening to me. I have not come across a fix unfortunately.

    I can also say that both my X One S had issues and now my X One X blinks randomly as well. I’m using a 55’’ Visio E55-E1 and almost unplayable in 4K. 1080p is fine but I didn’t buy the One X for 1080P.

    i have the same problem. Tv is a Samsung UE55MU7009. Screen keeps flickering if HDMI UHD Color mode is activated.

    You talk about going black but have flickering on Topic.

    There was an official Problem with HDR Flickering on that TVs and Xbox but that should be fixed a time ago
    The screen flickers when HDR or HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour is on in the TV, after a while of flickering it goes black, then the TV loses the signal from the Xbox. That's
    my problem.

    If I deactivate HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour, then there's no more flickering and no more black screen.

    Well it isn't fixed yet, I'm 100% sure I am on the latest firmware on both the LG C9 and the Xbox One X.

    Hey, having the same problem here. Using Xbox One X. It was working fine for a year and recently started flickering. I have bought a new 4k tv and it's even worse. I bought a new high speed HDMI cable: new set of issues - complete black screen or it flickers
    heavily. Went to test the XBOX on a 3rd tv and it flickers as well. I'd appreciate some help.
