  1. Xbox One X Flashing Snowy Screen

I bought an Xbox One X on Sept 30th 2018 to take advantage of 4k gaming after buying my Samsung Q8F 4K TV. After doing the initial updates once booted everything seemed fine that day. Very next day I got the snowy screen
that flashes on and off in which I physically powered the system on/off. The console will probably work for about an hour. After looking online I see old issues of this where people unplug HDMI and re-plug in order to get screen back which also works and is
quickly then a power cycle. I originally had the One S (which I moved to bedroom Visio 4K TV) on this TV and had no issues after using it on the Samsung TV for about a month. I installed One X using same HDMI cables from One S, basically just did a swap. Some
days I have no problems. I went into One X settings and enabled the 4:2:2 to see if this would fix the issue, but nope it still occurs. I've even swapped out HDMI cables (from xbox out to TV), mind you my cable (comcast) is running thur xbox.

Please help as to why this is happening randomly?? Only other option I can see is moving the one x to the visio TV and see if it happens.

    :)

Hi, firstly (as you have stated) check it on your other TV, if the same thing is happening, take it back to the retailer for an exchange.

  6. Tried a reset last night. Re set up everything and only watch TV for about an hour before bed. Watched TV this morning and almost a hour and half it the flashing snowy screen came. Still get sound but no picture just this, until I disconnect and reconnect
    HDMI.

    Virgo try this

    Go to your network settings,

    Select advanced settings

    select alt mac address

    Clear

    Restart

Make sure you have the HDMI running from the Xbox console to the tv. Make sure there are no sound bars or converters in between that connection.

I will check but I do have an AV system which is setup up just like the Basic Set Up Guidelines specify:

Basic setup with an audio/video receiver

With an audio/video (A/V) receiver, the best and most direct option is to connect the devices sequentially:

    1. Connect your set-top box HDMI output to the Xbox One HDMI input.
    2. Connect the Xbox One HDMI output to your A/V HDMI input.
    3. Connect your A/V HDMI output to the HDMI input on your TV.
Now I will have to see if the TV has HDMI output to include A/V if Xbox needs to go directly to TV or switch to optical

    Hi there,

Please try some of the suggestions on this page, and also consider removing any external hard drive, that you might be using, to see if it improves the situation. 4K on Xbox One Consoles

If you continue to run into issues, it would be worth contacting the point of sale, as it is so recent, to see if your console can be exchanged. Alternatively, you can start a service repair here: https://devicesupport.microsoft.com/

    Hope this helps,

    Hello Secret,

Could you try a direct connection with the HDMI to the TV and see if that is any different?

    Please let us know.

    Thanks,

  11. I tried the direct connect to tv quickly but did not leave it as I cannot get the One X to do 5.1 surround that way or see onscreen menu options from my A/V system when its bypassed. I did realize that the flashing snowy screen (but still has sound) only
occurs when I'm watching cable tv which is ran thur the one x. I was using one of the xbox HDMI cables that comes with the systems to connect the cable box to the xbox. I have seen online that a lot of people don't like the HDMIs provided by Microsoft. I
decided to switch that cable out with one of the store bought ones I have and will see if the issue occurs again as I was getting a few random pic drops.
