Xbox One X Fan speed improvment

    Hi

I have a new Xbox One X, with Read Dead Redemption 2.

While playing the fan speed up fast for a few seconds, then slow down, and speed up fast again...

For no reason because the Xbox is cold.

I understand the CPU/GPU load is constantly changing, but there is a thermal inertia. The heat dissipation through the radiator is not
instantaneous, so there no need moving fan speed so high so fast. This is just noise that can be avoided.

Computer's motherboards manage fans in order to speed up and down slowly, i wonder why the Xbox One X is not doing this correctly.

    Thanks

    :)

Xbox series x running hot causing slower connection speeds only when gaming

If your Xbox Series X is running hot and causing slower connection speeds only when gaming, there are a few things you can do to improve the situation:

    1. Make sure your Xbox Series X is properly ventilated: Ensure that there is proper airflow around the console and that it is not placed in an enclosed space. If necessary, move it to a cooler area of the room.

    2. Clean your Xbox Series X: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate inside the console, blocking the vents and causing it to overheat. Use compressed air or a vacuum cleaner to remove any dust or debris from the vents.

    3. Check your internet connection: Slow connection speeds could also be caused by issues with your internet connection. Try connecting your Xbox Series X directly to your router using an ethernet cable to see if this improves your connection speed.

    4. Limit background apps and downloads: Running too many apps or downloading large files while gaming can put additional strain on your Xbox Series X, causing it to run hotter and potentially slowing down your connection speeds. Close any unnecessary apps and avoid downloading large files while gaming.

    5. Consider adding additional cooling: If your Xbox Series X is still running hot despite these steps, you may want to consider adding additional cooling, such as a cooling pad or fan. This can help to keep the console running at a cooler temperature and improve your connection speeds while gaming.

Xbox One X - Fan Noise

NBA 19k and Assassins Creed Origin are
listed on this page as being Xbox One X enhanced
    .

This means, that these enhanced games demand more processing power on the Xbox One X compared to other (older, non Xbox One X enhanced) games.

More processing power creates more heat that has to be cooled by the console's fan. The Xbox One X tries to do that with a fairly "intelligent" fan control, where the console tries to run as silently as possible, but intermittently the console has to turn
up the fan in short bursts to dissipate the heat caused by the higher processing power.

While the Xbox One X has an improved cooling system thanks to the vapor chamber that makes the console run quieter compared to the "older" Xbox One generation, you need to be aware, that the console can't break the laws of physics, thermodynamics and aerodynamics.
So you will never have a "silent" console in that form factor. For a completely silent 4K system, you would have to have several passive cooling elements that are as big as the whole console itself. So an active (noise producing) fan is still necessary to
get a console that still fits into a regular TV shelf.

The more processing power a game demands, the more heat the chips produce, and the faster the fan has to spin to generate enough air flow to cool the console.

Under "normal" gaming conditions, where you have the game sound turned up to regular room volume, you should only hear the console if you specifically listen for the fan.

And of course, if you mute the sound completely, you will hear the higher speed fan bursts that happen intermittently when running Xbox One X enhanced games.

Whenever you run non-enhanced games, you'll hear that the console does not do these faster fan bursts that cause the console to become louder.

Heres a big one for you October they gave the fans what they wanted. Improvements not regergated crap. Do you think I came on here to **** off COD fans? I am one and this game is a big let down TO ME and I came on here to vent my dissapointment and it feels
    great!

As i figured, a generic response "gave the fans what they wanted". Glad you feel good though.
