Xbox One X Fan sounds way louder than usual

My Xbox One X fan sounds like a jet about to take off when I'm playing games, it sounds silent when I'm just sitting on Xbox home or watching Twitch or Netflix, but soon as a start up a game it gets loud sometimes it even causes my Xbox to turn off on
its own while I'm in a middle of a game which is very frustrating, My Xbox One X should not be overheating since its not hot to the touch and its at a well-ventilated area, do anyone else have or had this issue? and if you did do you have any possible solutions
or should I just send my Xbox to Microsoft to repair.

Ever since last night my Xbox one fan has been louder than usual. Any solutions on how to fix this?

 

My xbox sounds like a tank.

It could be the fan on it's way out if it's that loud, saying that my sons old Xbox fan became slightly louder than usual but once he hoovered the dust out ( don't put hoover on highest setting ) that collected just inside the open vents it did make it less
noisy.

If you play a Xbox One X enhanced game it's normal for the fan to be louder than when on Xbox Home or watching video apps like Netflix or Twitch.

However, the console turning off is not. Can you check if your console is directly connected to a wall outlet, or if you use a power strip? Can you connect the console directly to the wall outlet? If possible, also try a different wall outlet.

If the console is turning off then this is usually due to overheating (the console does not need to feel hot or the air coming out of it as the overheating occurs between the heatsink and the chipset), The fan will always speed up if the system detects that
the hardware is getting too hot.

You could try the troubleshooting article for the console unexpectedly turning off, other than that if it keeps happening then you would need to register it for repair.

 

While it's completely normal to hear the fan on the One X, it's not normal for it to be extremely loud, sounding like a jet engine.

To my knowledge this could be caused by the following:

1. Console airflow restricted, either due to location or console is vertical without the stand, therefore blocking ventilation.

Faulty temperature sensor. Machine believes it is overheating so ramps up the fans. Machine goes off to prevent damage. Maybe a false positive?

Seen some videos of this fault on YouTube. Pretty sure the comment I read was the replacement worked fine.

 

Ok I moved it and it has not shut off sense but the Xbox One X Fan noise is not constant and is still loud maybe not as loud as a jet engine like I describe before but still loud way louder than my Xbox One S and OG Xbox One, it would have a fan burst
when I'm playing which is loud and annoying and the fan noise would never be at a constant noise level while I'm playing a game.

 

Your Xbox has certain speeds for exactly the temperature it is at. If you have a disc game in the friction does apply more than digital games but in my experience I've seen this happen due to damage to one of the fan blades or something obstructing the
fan when its heavily used. Short of sending in your console for maintenance there is no troubleshooting if it is a hardware issue. Visit our
