Xbox One X fan noise

Hi

Just lately my beloved xbox has been making what I can only describe as a helicopter waiting to lift off!!!

The noise level of the fan only comes on when I have been playing The Division, the easiest thing would be don't play The Division lol

Any idea what might be wrong with it? Its a Project Scropio edition and I don't really want to send t back if I cant get a like for like replacement.

Any help would be appreciated

Xbox one x fan

So hey, i recently bought an xbox one x and the fan makes a weird grinding noise when im playing games, is this actually normal?

Wolfenstein II: The new Colossus and Warhammer: Vermintide 2 are both Xbox One X enhanced games that are being rendered at 4K, which is more taxing on the graphics hardware, and therefore produces more heat.

And therefore the fan of the console has to run faster to get rid of the heat. So the fan being louder compared to whenever you play a non-Xbox One X enhanced game, is normal.

I don't know your actual speaker or headset setup, but whenever I play on my Surround Sound system or through my headphones when my wife is asleep, I don't hear the fan on my console, no matter what game I play.

While the console is quieter than other consoles when you play "normal" Xbox One games, watch Videos or have the console idling on the Home Screen, games that demand full processing power because they are Xbox One X enhanced, will cause the fan to spin faster,
and therefore being louder than normal.

 

Hi this is unfortunately a well know issue of the scorpio edition they did fix it in the normal xbox one x. Here is just one example Chime in: Is your Xbox One X making strange noises?

It does need to be serviced by microsoft to sort out the fan noise,
https://support.xbox.com/contact-us I would call them up and ask if they can fix it or do a like for like replacement if that is necessary to fix your system but it will all depend on inventory.
