Xbox One X - Family Account Sharing Question

I'm a father of three children 10B, 8G, 6B and am thinking of making the leap into buying our first console for the family. Right now the kids play games on their Ipads. Background:: I am an avid computer player, I haven't owned a console since I purchased
my own in 1986 for $99.99 Xbox One X - Family Account Sharing Question :). As a tech geek, I'm super Stok3d about augmented reality and patiently waiting for Microsoft to somehow get their HoloLens mainstream with gaming. As I'm not tied to any gaming system, I'm leaning Microsoft for this reason as
I think they'll eventually lead in the Augmented / VR World.

Anyway, as I'm not tied to any console as of yet, I'm doing my homework. I'm wanting to install 2x 60" TVs side-by-side in a gaming room and buy 2x consoles. What I don't want to do is purchase multiple games to multiplayer. Eventually I may even purchase
a 3rd console on a different floor. Now for the question, am I able to multiplayer games with my kids (say 5x of us like on our Itunes accounts) without buying multiple games? I'm okay with needing to purchase a monthly subscription to make this happen.
Also realize I plan on holding off on buying the consoles until the XBOX One X's come out in case this makes a difference.

This is a deal breaker for me if I can't. I hate to even ask this here, but does anyone know if you can do this on the latest Playstation or WII if not? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

    Gamesharing with family

I have a question about sharing your games with family.

So there are 2 xbox one consoles in my home right now, one for me and one for one of my brothers. We are sharing all games and live at the moment that we buy through my account. My other brother is thinking about buying xbox one too, so there will be 3 consoles.

Is it possible to share games and live from my account to both of my brothers consoles so we can play online together?

Sorry if there is post about this question but i couldnt find it.

Xbox One X - Family Account Sharing Question

In order to share games/gold with other accounts, the account that purchases them has to set the console as their Home console (My Home Xbox Setting on Xbox One | Share Your Xbox One)
You can only have one console set as your Home console at a time, so if you were to get to 2 consoles, everyone could play the games on one console and the account that purchased the content can sign in and play on the other console. If you have 3 consoles,
you'd need at least 2 accounts to purchase everything and set 2 separate consoles as their Home consoles. You can also just purchase the games on disc in order to not have to purchase them more than once, but if 2 of the kids are wanting to play at the same
time, then you would need more than 1.

Thank you for the detailed reply. So with the trick you mentioned with buying a digital game, I would still be able to have people play simultaneously together in a multiplayer fashion?

I would imagine this is something that Microsoft is working on as the best I could do would be to play 4x people on one Console and the person who the game is homed to play on the other. I'm sure they realize this solution is lacking as I'd like the ability
to play 2x on one console for a 50/50 split screen TV and 2x people on another for a 50/50 split TV. My wife doesn't game much so would usually be 4x players...

Any chance that this may be improved with the XBOX One X? Itunes Sharing is far superior in their Family Sharing for Ipads.

Buying games or buying content in a game.

I believe setting up a game share would solve the problem/answer the question. It would allow for you to both share purchased content and dlc. One way to do it would be to login to both accounts and set them as the home Xbox seperately so that both accounts
accounts will be tied to the home Xbox, therefore sharing games between accounts.

Another way to do it would be to set up a family on the Xbox with your son's account set as the child/other family member and that will also share content between the two on the Xbox. Both of these can be done in the settings.

Multiple Xbox's (5) subscriptions and game sharing

    Hi Dave,

Although all of the information you are looking for can be found here; https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/console/my-home-xbox,
I'll do my best to answer all of your questions.

There is no way to share your subscriptions to multiple accounts added to a Microsoft Family. Every account can only designate one Xbox as the account's home console, sharing the content that account owns to all of the other accounts on that console only.
Due to this limitation, your main account which is paying for all of the subscriptions can only share the content it owns with one other console in your home.

If everyone else who owns a console has their own account and independently uses a certain console, then they will need to have a paid-for subscription to access the features of that subscription on their own accounts. Every account has 5 switches every
year, so you can only switch to a different home console and share your content with a different console, 5 times in one year. After the 5th switch, your account would be locked from changing the designated home console.

The feature is meant for a family to share games and subscriptions between one shared family home console, not multiple consoles where each family member has their own Xbox. Allowing one license to be shared with multiple consoles is not a smart business
practice and would cause game developers to lose a lot of money if this was allowed for every household. Some game developers don't even allow certain content they make to be shared in this way and you need to buy a license for every account.

If you have any other questions, please let us know but I highly suggest reading the official support article on the home console sharing that I linked above.
