Xbox One X - False advertising?

I know the Kinect will work with all the current Xbox versions with an adapter, that's not what I'm saying.

I'm saying you can't have "All the Xbox One accessories you’ve got now (or have got your eye on) work with Xbox One S and Xbox One X. No adapters, no hassle. Just play." written on the website you're showing off your latest console and then expect people
to go out and buy adapters. Either cough up the adapter for free, change the false claim on your website, or do the usual with the tiny asterisk or number beside the current false claim and then write somewhere miles down the page " *Does not apply for the
Kinect. For the kinect you need an adapter sold separately. Adapter. Hassle. No play"..

From what I've read on gaming sites, it will require a usb dongle, same as the Xbox One S...

I'm pretty sure an "angry" e-mail to Microsoft, if they even bothered to read it, would probably either get you a dongle sent for free, or an asterisk * on the advertisement that would say "except the Kinect whose owners we've been screwing since a few months
after release"...

Even on their own site, the Kinect appears at http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/xbox-one/accessories/kinect...ACCESSORIES.... So yeah, I would say this is false advertising..

hope this gets answered I was thinking the same looked at the back of new xbox one x and no port for Kinect gutted about this as I use Kinect was gonna buy new xbox but not sure now

Again, I know it died, I let it go. Buying a £40-50 extra adapter won't make me poor if I decide to buy the XboX One X.

That doesn't mean the Kinect is not classed as an "Xbox accessory I've got now" though, ergo false advertising on Microsoft's side.

Does it really matter? I mean the amount of hatred the Kinect got at launch was HUGE.

I say retire the Kinect to the scrap pile of history and move on, very few games ever got released that used it, and now we don't have to have it plugged in for the Xbox One to work, no new games will ever get made.

And for the people that say "I use it to change channels on my TV" the Xbox One X has an IR blaster at the front of the console, just like the Xbox One S does.
