    Xbox One X external issues


    So I've spoken with support about this issue and they asked me to post here. My external just stopped appearing on my Xbox One after a year. I reformatted and cleaned my external on my PC, and then plugged it back into my Xbox One X. The drive is always
    detected, I rename the drive, select where to save my games, select format....and then nothing. No matter how long I wait. I've gone through any online steps I could find, tried on another Xbox, nothing has been able to help. If I unplug and then plug it back
    in, it asks me the same questions all over again. Thank you in advance!

    Hi! I have a Xbox one and going to upgrade to Xbox one x. I using external Hard disk for the game . Can I just plug in the external hard disk to Xbox one x and everything will be work? Game and profile everythjng?

    Sorry but the information in the link is wrong.

    Power supply and cord

    Xbox One S and original Xbox One come with an external fan-assisted power supply that measures 6.69 x 1.88 x 2.96 inches (about 17 x 4.8 x 7.5 cm). The size is the same in the 100-110V, 220-240V,
    and 100-240V versions.

    Both the Xbox One S and Xbox one X have multi voltage Internal PSUs only the Original Xbox one has an external PSU.

    Hi there.

    Are you able to test that drive on another console such as a friend's and test it out with another USB cable?

    If you test it and run into the same issue then unfortunately this would indicate that the drive is no longer functioning properly and we would recommend purchasing a new drive to go with the console.

    If the drive does work on another console please let us know!

    after december update will not see external drive.

    I have two Xbox One's (Day one editon and a One X), both an external HDD (1TB), latest update and no issues.

    Yes you can ive got an xbox one x with two 2tb external hardrives running constantly with no issues.

    Xbox one x, yes to the external storage, no to reinstalling the game, no I was kicked to the main warzone screen, no I'm not having issues with any other games

    It should work. And if you're external drive which works on Xbox One doesn't work on the flashy X console, it's Microsoft's fault because it will clearly be a software issue, not a hardware issue. Xbox One X has the same/similar 64 bit processor as the original
    XB1. The X has USB ports, just like the XB1 [original]. It's like when Xbox One launched November. It has USB ports but no external HDD support - software issue. Now it's fixed for the original and S models.

    I will be getting the X on 7/11/2017. So I'll be getting a $5 pair of white gloves and a YouTube video of it (thanks for being a role model Microsoft) and doing an unboxing and hands on, of it. Looking forward to it! The X releases next month. Yay.
