    Hi, so basically I have come on to my xbox today and none of my games are showing up from my external hdd but minecraft. My HDD is showing that it is 79% full with the rest of the games but i cannot launch them or see them in my games and apps. I have tried
    hard resetting the xbox multiple times and also unplugged the external hdd and plugged it back in to which i get a notification that a external device has been found but still nothing any ideas guys ?

    How to merge internal HDD and external HDD to separate external HDD

    I am picking up my Xbox One X on Tuesday and am trying to get organised for shifting all my data over.

    I have an empty 4TB external HDD and I want to merge the data on my Xbox One internal HDD and the 2TB external HDD that is attached to it onto this new external HDD. Then I can just attach the new external HDD to the Xbox One X and I'm good to go.

    Problem is, I don't know how to do this. Any help?

    It was confirmed last night that any current external hard drive will work with the Xbox One X, however you may want to consider moving some of the games you play often over to the Xbox One X internal hard drive as it will probably load games quicker from
    internal HDD than your external one.

    Hi

    When you go into My games and apps at the very top of the section are a few filter options can you please check to make sure you have these set to show all storage and all games.

    If you're still having the issue, try plugging your drive into a PC. If it isn't recognized as a separate drive, then it's likely corrupt and you'll need to reformat fresh on the PC to NTFS format before plugging it back into the Xbox and reformatting/reinstalling
    all of your games. I'm in the middle of that after exhausting all other options, including a factory reset of my console (didn't delete games and apps).

    external hdd's are not fast enough for the new series s/x optimised games and therefore have to run off the internal ssd or the new expansion cards, all xbox one games and 360 BC games can run off your external hdd.
