    Xbox One X ext hard drive


    Question, I have all of my games downloaded and installed on an external hard drive. If I were to get and Xbox One X, would I have to redownload all of my games or could I just connect my external hard drive to it and have them all ready to go?

    My hard drive doesn't work with my Xbox one...

    ok, I haven't had ANY issues with my hardrive, ever. But today was different. My Xbox one shuts off when my ext. hard drive is connected. When the ext drive is not connected my Xbox can stay on. How do I make it so my Xbox doesn't shut off when my ext. drive
    is connected.

    4tb hard drive not allowing me to play games?

    i have a 4 tb ext. Hard drive from my xbox one, was told that this would be a simple plug n go with the new xbox one x? Unfortunately it wont let me play the games even though they show up as owned. Any thoughts or answers?

    Mine is plugged into the back USB and I am able to carry it between Xbox one's

    If you don't want to lose your games and you can afford it buy a new drive / borrow one and format it on the Xbox One S and then try it on the S.

    I have had no problem going out an buying brand name 2.5 USB3 Ext drives, formatting them and using them.

    The only way to tell if it is going to work, is to format the Ext. drive on the new X.

    All game data associated to a game, with the exception of game saves, will be installed on the appropriate drive the game is installed on.

    The updates save to where the game or app is saved. If the game is on the internal drive, that's where the update will save to.
