Xbox One X - E105/HDD Errors - MS Device Service/Repair

I have been experiencing issues for the past few months with my Xbox One X (e.g. games failing to load, save errors, system menus freezing, E105 error). Following some research, I am certain these errors are caused by poor quality capacitors that are overheating
due to a major design flaw in the Xbox’s heat management system. This causes power fluctuations and thus hard drive corruption.

I visited the Microsoft device service and replacement webpage to request a repair. Unfortunately, I could not select my issue as it was not listed as an option (very few options were listed at all) and I could therefore only describe my issue as ‘other’.
The generic price quoted by Microsoft for selecting this option is £236.40 (that’s 70% the cost of a brand new Xbox One X).

I can fix the issue myself for less than £10 by installing better capacitors (£50 if the hard drive also needs replacing).
I know what I need to do to fix the Xbox and it wouldn't take longer than an afternoon to do so. I also know Microsoft could fix this quicker and cheaper than me, so I find their £236.40 quote to be laughable; even when factoring in labour costs this
is outrageously overpriced.

I would happily fix the problem myself; however, Microsoft uses a warranty sticker as a means to deter you from opening the Xbox. I would have to remove this sticker to make the repairs.
This would likely prevent me from being able to trade-in the Xbox when Series X
launches. For this reason, I would much prefer that Microsoft fixes it.

The Microsoft website directed me here for help with this problem since online chat and phone calls aren’t available for these issues. I know Microsoft must be aware of the problem (since many others have also experienced the
same issues as me), but they’ve seemingly refused to acknowledge it.

Paying £236.40 for such a simple fix is absolutely absurd and therefore isn’t an option. As it’s a manufacturing defect, Microsoft really should be fixing this issue for free; however, I’d still be willing to pay up to half of the quoted price. Does anybody
have any advice on what I should do? Could Microsoft potentially reconsider this utterly unreasonable price quote?
