Xbox One X Dolby Atmos not working

I'm having the same problem as well. I have a LG E7 and it has the built in Dolby Atmos sound bar. I can't even get 4k uhd disc to play due to Dolby Atmos. If I turn Dolby Atmos off in the movie's menu, the movie will play. If I
turn it back on the movie will freeze and sound will continue to play. It will not play both at the same time. Also I can't get it to work at all on video games. When I go to the Xbox sound and connecttions menu and turn on Dolby Atmos all sound stops. I have
no receiver or anything to test it on that away. I was happy with the e7 sound bar Atmos performance. I talked with a rep from Microsoft and he said it sounds like it's the blu ray app having a problem and probably needs an update. I'm not sure.

 

I have a Vizio 65 4K HDR TV with an LG 9 sounder with Dolby Atmos. Used an HDMI connection for Atmos sound and nothing. Is it my sounder or my X or is it a software issue between the X and Dolby?

 

I am having a similar problem, i have the 2018 sony htzf9 soundbar with dolby atmos and dts x, i have tried everything and its still not working, can anyone contribute? Thanks

I have the same soundbar and am facing the same issue.

 

Have you gone into your Xbox video settings. From Xbox settings go to Display & Sound, then go to Video output, then under the Advanced menu go to Video fidelity & overscan. Then under display make sure HDMI is highlighted NOT auto detect. A window will
pop up saying use manual settings. from here you may need to setup your resolution to 1080p or 4k, depending on what your display output is.

 

Also still issues and contacted the guys from Microsoft, not solution was provide. Really hope someone here knows the answer/solution.

So set-up is a LG Oled with a Denon X6400H connected through a HDMI to the Xbox X.

Made sure the video output is selected to HDMI and not auto. Also the TV details are perfect and all check boxes are green.

Setting up ATMOS:

Audio output and changing all settings, but the last setting to "ATMOS" doesn't work. A message pops-up: "Atmos can only work via HDMI".

Well I've only a HDMI cable and one of the latest that should support it. Also when choosing 7.1, also via HDMI, everything works perfect. So, there is a HDMI cable connected and nothing else. No optical cable.

Funny fact, which makes it a strange issue:

I also changed the setting at the Blu-ray menu to "Let receiver decode audio". Guess what, all my Blu-ray discs with ATMOS, play it perfectly. So the Denon is able to receive the ATMOS signal from the Xbox X and play it.

So clearly something is holding back the Xbox X software to pass on the signal or detecting the HDMI cable for passing ATMOS. Still strange as it does notice it for 7.1 and also for all video related signals (4k, UHD, etc.).

So, what's wrong,... I tried all kind of things with settings in the Denon, but nothing seems to work. For me all 'fingers' point at the Xbox X, but really hope I'm missing something. Also tried to completely re-install my Xbox X from scratch, but results
is exactly the same.

Have you firstly installed the Dolby Atmos app for home theater. Have you also made sure your HDMI cable is HDMI 2.0 compatible. Have you made sure that your audio settings on the Xbox might need setting to bitstream out. Make sure you untick any headphone
settings. Unless your using headphones. Also what does your amp output display. Is it at least showing Dolby Digital when using Xbox. I have a Denon X2200. But I have it running through a HDMI splitter which is not HDMI 2.0 compatible which means I only get
Dolby Digital output, but if I plug directly From Display I get Dolby Atmos. Let me know if any of my suggestions work.
