  1. Xbox One X Dolby Atmos Audio Issues

    Hello,

I just recently configured my system for Dolby Atmos gaming. I was reading some articles that people were experiencing stuttering sound or

complete loss of sound while playing a Dolby Atmos supported game. I myself has had this very issue and was wondering if there is a

permanent fix for this issue? I did a hard reset on my console and seemed to help but due to the amount of issues being reported that

I read about I'm not sure if this will completely correct or fix this issue.

    Thanks

    :)

  2. Xbox One X Dolby Atmos not working

    ***UPDATE***

I finally got Dolby Atmos to work!!! Under "Settings, Display & Sound, Volume, Setup TV & AV Control, Audio" I had to change the default "Stereo" setting to "Surround Sound." The Xbox One X had to reboot to accept/change the setting. Once it rebooted Dolby
Atmos was working. It is interesting that the main control will be under the volume settings instead of audio output. You would think the system will be smart enough to activate surround sound when you are choosing Dolby Atmos to bitstream.

Hopefully this "difficult to find" change of setting will work for others who are having Dolby Atmos issues.

Xbox One X Dolby Atmos Audio Issues

I have this problem myself sometimes and a power cycle (10 sec. holding the powerbutton on your console) does fix it for a fair amount of time.

  5. I am having this issue also. With Dolby Atmos on, the sound quality is terrible, it is very lossy and breaks at times. Switched to normal Dolby bitstream or 7.1 uncompressed all sound issues go away.

Yes, I am running through an AVR which is one of the latest models this year that supports all current formats including Dolby Atmos.

Is the problem my specific Xbox One X and should I seek a replacement?

  6. I honestly don't think it's an actual problem with your console. I think it's either a communication/sync issue with HDMI between Xbox One X and AVR or a patch is needed with the Dolby App itself. It's beyond frustrating at this point to try and use.

Dolby Atmos on Xbox One X = issue !

    Hi RomiDumitru,

*maybe* this "problem" is exactly how the Dolby Atmos App on Xbox One X works.

Dolby Atmos native content? perfect! Dolby Atmos playback.

No Dolby Atmos? the App upmix current audio track to Dolby Atmos (the headphones features works in this way).

I don't know if is intentional.

Xbox One X Dolby Atmos not working

My Xbox One X is connected to my receiver. When I try to setup Atmos in the audio settings Xbox One X says that my receiver, Denon AVR-4300H, does not have Atmos capability. I am only allowed to choose DTS for the bitstream sound output. Atmos works fine
with my Samsung 4K player so I know it is an Xbox One X issue.

The Dolby App does not give any error until I try to view the demo videos where it flashes, "you are not viewing this video on Dolby Atmos." It plays the demo video on DTS instead.

Xbox One X no Dolby Atmos using Samsung HW-N950 & Samsung QE65Q9FN 4KTV

I have the same problem with My xbox one x and 950 soundbar. I get audio delay once I enable Dolby atmos via the audio settings on my hdmi, but the soundbar works great with all other devices, cable TV, apple TV 4k. I've literally tried everything and
I'm thinking is has something to do with the Dolby atmos application. I've used optical and other sources and they sound good, obviously not Dolby atmos but they work. I don't think it's my TV or soundbar. I've also replaced the xbox one x to a new xbox one
x and same issue. It has to be a bug in the atmos connection from the speakers to the xbox. It's super frustrating. Not sure what else to do until I new update comes out.

What kind of sound card does xbox one X have?

    Hello sizzle,

Thank you for contacting Forum support!

Dolby Atmos support on Xbox One and Xbox One S, with this feature it enables all Xbox consoles to pass Blu-ray audio data untouched to a user’s audio equipment, allowing your audio receiver or other audio device to produce a high
    quality, immersive sound experience.

Audio Components with Xbox one X:

    DTS: 5.1

DOLBY Digital 5.1, TrueHD with Atmos

    PCM

    Hope this helps.

Dolby Atmos App - When will it be updated

This is Xbox One specific, and relates to how Dolby Atmos capabilities via Home Cinema amps. They have been compromised by the fact that the Dolby Atmos app version has not kept up with the firmware of numerous current amps from multiple brands.

Since August, it changed from outputting Atmos signals as "Atmos" to to generic "multi Ch in".

Like many others, I mailed Denon, and it is an issue relating to the MAT container embedded in the Dolby Atmos app. We collectively need a definitive answer on when Microsoft and/or Dolby intends to upgrade to 1.6?

The full quite of the Denon explanation is below:

"Dolby Atmos version is changed from “Dolby Harmony 1.3” to “Dolby Home Audio 1.6” via U21 Update. The Dolby Home Audio 1.6 includes the “Dolby MAT signaling” feature that detecting the channel based PCM signal contained into the Dolby MAT Container.
And, major player which contains the PCM signal into Dolby MAT container is only XBOX One S and XBOX One X, currently. With new Dolby Atmos version 1.6, specific processing of source (XBOX) is needed. This is now the problem: Xbox did not implement this processing
