Xbox One X doesn't stay connected to Wi-fi in instant on mode

I've got two Xbox One X's and the one connected wired is fine. It stays connected to Xbox Live and updates games and the firmware when ever updates are available.

But my second machine is connected via Wi-Fi and whenever there has been a firmware update, the machine has simply disconnected from Wi-Fi and not updated itself. So when I go to use it, it inevitably has a lot of game updates to do as well.

Any reason that it doesn't just stay hooked up to Live waiting for either firmware or game updates? Thanks

What kind of setup do you have, as far as other components? Any other computers or devices connected to the modem? If it is Wi-Fi enabled does any device stay connected to it at all times, like a Blu-ray player or one of those internet T.Vs? Also if your
Wi-Fi isn't secure you could have leechers, people near your home that are connecting to your Wi-Fi causing you to have a slow download. Another potential cause could be downloading and uploading, if your torrenting or seeding anything it can use up a lot
of resources depending on the settings.

 

Still lagging, does someone have an answer?

Is your Xbox 360 connected directly to your modem, or are you connecting through Wi-Fi?

Generally when connecting to Xbox Live, we recommend a wired connection over wireless whenever possible due to stability. Are both Xbox One X consoles you own connected to the same home network/router? It seems possible that the console featuring the wireless
connection could essentially be getting kicked off the network in that case.

Are you able to test out the Xbox One X console with the wireless connection while the Xbox One X console with the Ethernet cable connection is offline? Did that make any difference?
