Xbox One X doesn't automatically update system anymore?

The last significant software update for Xbox 360 consoles was in November 2019 with the OS version 2.0.17559.0, so you appear to be on the most recent one. Refer to:

If anything, you can always reinstall the latest system update in Settings > System > Storage and enter the following button sequence from your controller:

X, LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X.

Select the option to roll back all system updates that are installed. The console will then restart automatically and download the updates again.

OK, gotcha. When did you first notice this issue? I'm kind of at a loss here, but I'd like you to try to manually update your console, just to see if something went wrong during the last update. You can get instructions and files here:

support.xbox.com/.../system-update-help If it doesn't update automatically, go into System Settings > Memory, highlight HDD, press "Left Bumper Right Bumper, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X" and accept the prompts. This should force an udpdate. Let us know

Hey there! Let's try manually updating your console to see if we can get a jump on this issue. All you need to do is get the update file from our site (support.xbox.com/.../system-updates)
and move it to a USB device. Please follow the instructions on the page very carefully! Once you have that, plug into your console while it is off and turn it on. If it doesn't automatically update, open the Memory option, highlight the HDD, and press "Left
Bumper, Right Bumper, X, Left Bumer, Right Bumper, X", accept the prompt, and let it update. Does this help out at al?

Delete your profile and redownload it. If that doesn't work, delete your Dashboard update and redownload that:

Press the Guide button on your controller.

Go to settings and select System.

Select Storage.

Enter the following button sequence: LB, RB, X, LB, RB, X.

Select the option to roll back all system updates that are installed. The console will restart automatically and then download the updates again.

Reboot your network hardware after that. Boot your Xbox up, and try again. You're also paying for a service you can't use because they're taking your money. Because they can.

I recommend turning on
automatic updates so your console will automatically download and update to the latest system software typically when your console is not in use.

The latest version of the system software is required to play on Xbox Live.
