    Xbox One X - Display and Sound problems - cant play in native 4k@60hz


    Recently bought the new xbox, and when i connect it to my tv, it says everything is ok. My tv supports 4k UHD (60hz), your tv supports 10-bit 4K at 60hz, and so on... But under "playing games" it says: Your tv DOESNT support 4k at 60hz.

    xbox one x enhanced games will not display as 4k but will be transferred to increased visual resolution according to the debtor tv resolution...

    I´m aware of this. When you go to settings, Display & Sound. Then 4K TV details. This is where it is supposed to say "Your TV Supports 4K at 60hz" istead it says " Your TV setup supports up to native 4K for gaming."

    Ok so the Xbox is detecting what the tv supports. But that doesn't make the game 4k.

    What games are you trying to play?

    Only guessing but perhaps the wrong HDMI version or not the latest HDCP version for the TV which may be causing a mismatch between the Xbox and the TV?

    I have the same problem, my tv is Samsung UE65KS7505UXXE.

    Ok so the Xbox is detecting what the tv supports. But that doesn't make the game 4k.

    Hi,

    Great that you've got this to work, but why do you want to?

    You have a 4K TV, 4K is the TV's native resolution. If you use 1440P the TV will have to scale the image down, it won't look as good as 4K.

    Unless you're using freesync, which you cant do at 60Hz, there is zero benefit of 1440 on 4K displays. The One X isn't a PC, you won't get better framerates at lower resolutions.
