Xbox one x disc eject keeps going off

When I first noticed this I had a disc in but wasn't playing that game and when the disc eject chime went off it didn't actual eject the disc. So I power cycled the device and was then able to safely remove my game disc. After that however the disc eject
kept on going off every few minutes and even every 30 seconds. This even occurred when the xbox was off and this would cause the console to turn back on. I tried power cycling again and it has not resolved the issue. Finally I just went ahead and reset my
xbox in settings to remove all my data on the hard drive and so far it has not reoccurred yet but i will update if that changes.

That's really strange that it hasn't done it anymore since removing the data from the hard drive. Maybe there was some corrupted data stored that was triggering it, which it shouldn't have. I remember a year or so ago, reading about the disc drive problem
from someone else where it kept opening on them and they wound up having to send it in for replacement. If it starts back up again, I would just look into that, sorry to say. It sounds like a problem with the disc drive, if it continues to do it. Good luck
and hopefully it won't happen anymore and was just a one-time strange occurrence.

Hello, I would try unplugging console from the wall. Let it go completely dead and try manual eject again. Make sure its no disc in it. Push it manually a couple times then replug and see if that works.

Hello Chris,

It seems the issue is reoccurring again so I believe I will have to send it in for repair. Can I send that to my local Microsoft store or will I need to ship it out?
