    Xbox One X - Device Control Issue(s)


    With the latest update (9/25/2020), under device control in settings, I can no longer find any of the models of my connected devices.

    I’ve been having ARC issues with my LG B7A TV since the latest update so I reset the Xbox One X to try and re-initialize these connections. Now, when you enter the model number for your device (ie RX-A760 for my Yamaha AVR), you repeatedly encounter “We
    couldn’t find any models that match”.

    For years, there would be a drop-down menu where you could simply type “RXA760” and then select from a long list of Yamaha receivers with no problems, as far back or even further than the Xbox 360. Now, that’s no longer an option!? If the “guide me” option
    doesn’t find your specific device model, it leads to all types of handshake and ARC issues. Everything was working fine before this latest update. Now I’ve tried changing / upgrading HDMI cables, etc., and nothing resolves these issues.

    Bring back the drop-down option! Or at least update your database! The Yamaha Aventage A760, the Verizon Fios Arris set-top box, and the LG 55B7A are all very common devices and should readily be found through the guided set-up and/or a device drop-down
    menu!

    How can I resolve this??

    The Series S and X controllers work on same devices the earlier controller can connect to. This includes:

    Xbox One Game receiver for Windows 10

    Bluetooth (PC, Android, iOS)

    Xbox One, One S, X and Series X/S.

    If it's compatible with Xbox One, it should work with the entire family of devices (Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X). What error message do you get when you attempt to connect the device to the One S? Is it simply not seeing the controller?

    yes you can connect an Xbox One S/X controller to an android device as long as the android device supports controllers. I know you can do this as I have connected mine to my android device (Amazon fire 10), and it works well. All you have to do is turn
    on bluetooth on your device, and go in bluetooth settings and select scan for new device, then with the xbox one s controller, turn it on, and press and hold the sync button until the light on the controller flashes quickly. Your device should find the controller
    and pair them together.
