xbox one x controller sensitivity too high

I wouldn’t call this a “drifting” issue, and here’s why:

The problem only occurs when the buttons or joysticks are used and the problem occurs with buttons just as well as it does with the joysticks.

The problem only occurs on one specific controller. It will go away and come back randomly.

The problem also happens everywhere except inside of a game. (It will happen on the home page, in messages, in a party, on the friends list, in the microsoft store, etc.)

Here’s the problem:

D pad - I press one button and it presses itself about five times.

Rt and Lt- I press once and it presses itself multiple times.

Rs and Ls - I press slightly, nothing happens. I press slightly more and it immediately scrolls really quickly through everything.

I’ve noticed that when the controller isn’t acting up (which is rarely), If I hold down the joystick it will go over, wait about half a second, and then go over again.. but when it IS acting up, I press it once and it IMMEDIATELY quickly scrolls through
EVERYTHING... so this can’t be due to debris or anything. What can I do to fix it?

This may be an issue with your dashboard/guide just being a bit laggy.

Also try going into the Xbox Accessories app and using the "Test Mode" to see if its actually a hardware problem with your controller, in that case you might need to contact microsoft for help.

When i said this,Like when i move my controller just a little it does a full 360 for my pov.

I meant when i move my analog stick just a little it turns and looks really fast,like uncontrollably fast.

If the other two controllers are exact the same as this new one, maybe this new one is faulty and should be replaced.

If it is another model/different controller than the other two, maybe its sensitivity is just way too high from factory. Usually games have sensitivity settings on Video settings > Video sensitivity, or camera sensitivity, or even look sensitivity.

You cannot find this option on Tomb Raiders?

How old is the controller? Are you sensitivity settings in the game set too high as ItalianMonstor suggested? Maybe check in your Xbox settings as well

It could be that they are either on PC or have their sensitivity set to really high. Personally I like mine low because I'm too twitchy.

Try adjusting your sensitivity setting on your controller in games and that may help.
