    Xbox One X Controller issue


    Before I begin, I have no accessories plugged into any of my Xbox One's USB ports, and I am within 3 meters (10 foot) with clear line of sight (no obstacles) to my Xbox.

    So after updating my wireless controller, I started getting random disconnects.

    I thought it might be the battery, so changed to a fully charged battery unit.

    This worked the first 2 times, but on the third disconnect, changing the battery pack had no effect.

    The controller Xbox Guide button just flashes, and after a few minutes, switches off (pairing mode?).

    I try using the Connect/Pair buttons on the Xbox and controller. The guide button on the Xbox remains a solid light, and the controller just flashes its guide button for a few minutes, then switches off.

    I tried plugging the controller in via USB. The controller vibrates, but switching it on just causes the controller to flash its guide button for a few minutes.

    I followed various guides here in the forum, including many hard power resets, different USB ports etc.

    The troubleshooting guide ( https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/help/hardware-network/controller/wireless-controller-solution ) eventually tells me the controller is faulty, so I buy a new one.

    I purchased a wired PDP controller and plugged it in to the Xbox.

    Nothing... Nada... Zip.

    Thinking I may have received a faulty controller (it happens), I thought I would check if it worked on my Windows 10 Laptop..... It works...

    I now decide to try my “faulty” controller via USB to the Windows 10 Laptop... It works.

    Does this mean that it is my Xbox One X that is faulty?

    Xbox Series X (Maybe One/One X too) stops recording when controller disconnects

    Thank you for the response but my controller is completely up to date. It actually just happened for the first time again with the xbox one x controller I was using. I think it's built in to the xbox series x/one x/one to stop recording if the controller is disconnected which causes this issue and makes the footage unusable. Not sure if you have a fix for that in particular but if not it seems it will continue to be an issue.

    Hi,

    Do you have any other Xbox One controllers? If these work, but your other controller does not then the issue can only be with this particular controller. Windows 20H2 does not have any compatibility issues with Xbox controllers, my Xbox One, Series X and 360 controllers still work fine.
