    Xbox one X Controller Freeze


    I am having recurring issue with the Xbox one x controller that came with console. It freezes up completely and won’t work. It will turn on the console and start working for a minute or maybe even 30 minutes but then it will freeze up. Sometimes it flashes
    like it has lost connection then reconnects and then drops connection again. Other times it just freezes up and nothing works on it. I have synced it to console, tried updating it with cable to console and still no fixes. I can connect an older controller
    to it with no issues at all so it is limited to the new controller with system. Battery is full and not the issue, have tried different batteries without any change. Has anyone else had this issue?

    Xbox controller stops working in between

    Hello everyone, I am using a wired Xbox controller for my windows computer... Suddenly my controller stops working in between...the X light freezes, I mean only one led glows while playing, but it hangs and all the 4 LEDs glow... I am new to this, can
    anyone tell me what's the issue ??

    Are you on an Xbox One X, by chance? There were some known issues in Metro Exodus with crashing and freezing on the Xbox One X, sadly. Hopefully these issues will be getting patched very soon.

    Thanks for reaching out to Xbox forums support.

    I saw that you mentioned that the controllers work fine when wired.

    Is there any chance of some type wireless interference in your room or that part of your home that might be affecting the controllers?

    (ex: wireless home telephone, blue tooth equipment)

    Have you tried moving the Xbox to another part of your home to see if the controller problem persists?

    Also, I would suggest trying a friend / or neighbor's Xbox controller to see if the problem continues with their controllers as well.

    Hello Plee,

    Is the issue that is being experienced having to do with the Xbox One wireless controller not turning off when removing/replacing the batteries, or that you also cannot use the controller even though it is turned on indicated by the light of the logo?

    Our suggestion here, please attempt to follow our troubleshoot your Xbox One wireless controller support article
    for troubleshooting steps for the controller.

    Try this and let us know if this works.
