    Xbox One X - Controller Constantly Disconnects from any distance


    Hi All,

    My brand spanking new Xbox One X can't seem to stay connected with its controller. Sitting on the touch from 8 feet away, or standing a foot from it, the controller will seemingly randomly disconnect. Sometimes it reconnects immediately, other times it takes
    me several tries of the controller reconnect process to get the controller connected again. I've already connected it via USB and checked for firmware updates. I've also tried another set of brand new batteries to no avail. I've rebooted the console several
    times (per Xbox One Wireless Controller Help | Fix Your Xbox One Controller). There's nothing near the console other than the TV, so I don't think it's interference. It's not enclosed inside of anything either. It's line of sight from the
    front of the console to the front/top of the controller. Tomorrow I'll buy another controller and see if there's any difference. Other than that, does anyone else have any ideas?

    I am constantly getting controller disconnects on my Xbox one X. The setup is the same as I have been using with a Xbox One S since that launched with no issues. I have done everything I can including :

    Used different controllers and batteries

    Re-paired controllers

    Updated firmware

    Turned off 2.4 ghz WiFi on router

    Turned off 5 ghz WiFi on router

    As a last resort the Xbox one X was exchanged by the retailer with the same issues found.

    The issue can be replicated sometimes by waking a mobile phone from sleep, three different brands in the household and each one can cause controller disconnects when used.

    Playing games is unbearable as the controller can disconnect at random. Only for a second or two the light on controller flashes once and prompt appears on screen to press a.

    Please any help appreciated

    controller issues

    xbox one controller hardly ever works. constantly disconnects while games are loading. power cycle the xbox, use the controller to turn it back on, works till the game starts, then stops working. only button that functions at all is the dashboard x. cant
    do anything else though. even when its plugged in, still does nothing.

    The headset is wireless so it was not an issue with any of the ports or their cleanliness. All devices were Bluetooth and kept disconnecting from the Xbox randomly. I did a factory reset on my Xbox (keeping games and data) and it seemed to fix it, at least for now.

    Disconnect and reconnect the headset securely to the expansion port on the controller. Wipe the headphone cable connector with a clean cloth and reconnect it to the controller. Test the headset by connecting it to a different controller.     is anyone having issues where the controllers are constantly disconnecting from the xbox one and then won't reconnect? We got this same console and the controllers disconnect every few days and to get them to reconnect we have to unplug the xbox for 20
    seconds then reconnect it. using the connect buttons on the controller/console does nothing for some reason (no issues like this on the regular xbox one we have). very disappointing.
