Xbox One X: Controller connects but is useless

I dont know what the problem is. I am apart of the Xbox Insider skip ahead group. I recently turned my console to Instant-On to be able to do the project x cloud preview streaming(which never connects anyway). When i press my on button on xbox all I continue
to get is a black screen. I turn on my controller and nothing happens. I hit the xbox button on my controller and the dashboard comes up. I am unable to use any other buttons on the controller but the xbox button which brings up restart and reset but I can
never go to neither. It does not move. I have to unplug my console and manually do a hard reset everyday just to get the controller to move again. I dont know what to do about this but backtrack my steps which is console skip ahead on xbox insider and instant
on. Anyone having this issue with my current setup?

It sounds to me like an issue brought on by the skip ahead update. Unfortunately they warn that things like this may happen and that they can't be held liable for any damage or Xbox issues due to the pre release updates. If I were you I'd just bow out of
the skip ahead and factory reset your console. Hope this helps if only a little.

I was just about to buy a Xbox One X to replace my Xbox one with Kinect. But if I cannot connect the Kinect to it, it's useless to me. I'm quite disappointed in Microsoft to be honest.

The Series S and X controllers work on same devices the earlier controller can connect to. This includes:

Xbox One Game receiver for Windows 10

Bluetooth (PC, Android, iOS)

Xbox One, One S, X and Series X/S.

If this controller was previously connected to the console but is no longer able to connect, you should repeat the connection process using the console’s connect button.
