Xbox one x connection issues.

Hi, I don’t know if anyone can help or has maybe experienced the same problem as me?

I have just traded in my old Xbox one console towards the One X. Got it home set it all up and everything seemed to be fine but I’ve had issues connecting my console to the internet through an Ethernet connection.

The WiFi seems to work fine and connects without an issue. The console itself is amazing and I’m enjoying all new enhanced games and 4K features but I’m just concerned as to whether or not my console is faulty due to the Ethernet issues I’m having?

It shows up that I have a wired connection in the setting page and briefly connects before disconnecting and this continues over and over. Nothing I seem to do fixes the issue, I’ve reset my router tried a different cable but still have the issue yet WiFi
works fine?

It may not seem like a big deal as the console is working as it should in every other way but with it being a brand new console I just don’t want to ignore what could be a simple fix or a hardware fault?

Hey Nosnitram thanks for taking the time to bring this issue to us!

We understand how frustrating this all is and we do have some troubleshooting to get this squared away. First things first, we suggest clearing out the Network Card Cache since there might be some leftover information from the initial setup. To clear the
alternate MAC address follow these steps:

Settings

Network

Network Settings

Advanced Settings

Alternate MAC Address

Clear and Restart

Give it a shot and let us know how it goes so we can get the console back up and running!

I've had my One X since 11/2017 and only since the last OS update that I've been having a similar issue where I'll turn on the Xbox and it won't be connected to xbox live. I have it connected by ethernet and when I go to the settings, it doesn't show
that it is connected even after unplugging/re plugging ethernet cord. I have to restart the console to get it to connect again and then its good for a few days until the issue reoccurs. Its kinda starting to get annoying to be honest and I'm hoping to find
a solution.

I have been having the same issues, bought a new xbox one X and have been losing connection randomly, never lost connection before with the normal xbox one. When I lose connection it will sometimes say Teredo error or upnp connection error. Totally not
fun, I'm considering buying a new router but if it's the consoles fault I dont know what I'll do. I have already swapped my xbox one X out with another xbox one x from gamestop because I thought the first one was faulty and this did not stop the connection
issue.

Why would it only be the one x machine and not the one s ????

Lets rule out the internet service provider, its an xbox one x issue its pretty obvious.

All other pcs, gaming consoles and devices connect without issues

Go to your Xbox network settings. What does your "NAT Type" show?

Also try running the tests on the right side of the screen (Test network connection, Test multiplayer connection, Test NAT Type, Detailed network statistics), and see if those tests show any problems with your network.

My network is not the problem. I run multiple devices on it 24/7 Including an older Xbox One Halo 5 Edition. Nat is open 0% Packet Loss (confirmed thru Both Xboxes and CMD on PC.) Latency is ~50. Multiplayer Connection test on the problem box interrupts
itself frequently. I'm positive at this point it's a Hardware issue.

I've owned two xbox one Xs and both of them have this problem. Microsoft will not admit to it, or fix it. Its an obvious glitch. My PS4 does not do this. I have a pro and used to have a slim. It's not our internet either. Microsoft needs to own up to this
error. I'm pretty upset. I've been with xbox since 2004, but this makes me want to just sell my xbox and go strictly PlayStation. We deserve better.

recommend to
create a static IP for the consoleand
port forwarding on the network
configuration settings for a better connection.
