Xbox One X Connection Issue

Any help would be greatly appreciated. My connection doesnt work some times (2-3 times a week) Wont connect to xbox live until I restart the Xbox One X. Connected via LAN and not using WiFi. Been doing it since i got it about 6 months ago. Thought software
glitch but never fixed in any update. Any suggestions or ideas on what is causing it? Kinda annoying since it usually takes the longer type of restart to make it work again☹️

Xbox One X Won't Connect to Xbox Live

Hello,

My Xbox One X never is able to connect to Xbox Live when I first turn it on. I never had this issue with my Xbox One. I always have to Reset my Alternate Mac Address and usually Hard Reset my Xbox One X. I have ran all the connection tests on my Xbox
One X as well as reset my Internet Connection. But no success. I have had this issue since I got my Xbox One X.

 

Xbox One X Teredo problem

I have been having the same issues, bought a new xbox one X and have been losing connection randomly, never lost connection before with the normal xbox one. When I lose connection it will sometimes say Teredo error or upnp connection error. Totally not
fun, I'm considering buying a new router but if it's the consoles fault I dont know what I'll do. I have already swapped my xbox one X out with another xbox one x from gamestop because I thought the first one was faulty and this did not stop the connection
issue.

 

Maybe it's your internet provider. Have you tried taking the cable out of your modem for 30 seconds then plug it in again. Then if that does not work try the Xbox thing you are doing. I would advise you to also contact xbox support too. See what they can
come up with.

 

I thought maybe but i really dont think its the internet provider. We have lots of electronics connected to the router and dont have issues with those. Apple TV, Roku TV, Nintendo Switch, Cell Phones probably 20 electronics total and not one of them has
any issue getting connected to the router and the internet. Sometimes when i turn the xbox on it just wont connect. Even the troubleshooting options do nothing. Once i do a restart (true restart not the sleep mode type restart) then it connects with no issues.
Just kinda annoying honestly.

Hey Paul,

Did all the normal troubleshooting. Im very computer/router/modem savy. Tried looking in modem/router settings cant find anything there that would address it. Thought it could be an auto timeout through LAN connection but no options in router to turn
on or off. Tried to use every troubleshooting option on the xbox when i click connect to xbox live and none of those options ever do anything. They take forever and always dont fix it. Ive unplugged the router/modem unplugged the xbox one x ect. Most users
use WiFi I use LAN/Ethernet connection for less lag. Have a very nice Netgear AC Router/Modem Gigabit combo. I dont beleive im part of the insider program that I know off. Ive pretty much dialed this down to a LAN/Ethernet connection issue with the Xbox One
X (software issue most likely) since its not a WiFi type thing or a Modem/Router issue. Dont know of any Modem/Router that would have default timeouts on Lan connections though so doubt its the Router/Modem. Restarting modem/router also does nothing but a
full xbox one x restart works everytime. The one that takes longer to restart. Wifi connections with all other electronics i have always work even when the xbox wont connect to xbox live. Just annoying to deal with a fee times a week. Its not an evertime i
turn on my xbox type of issue. I have my xbox set on the quicker turn on setting where the xbox never fully turns 100% off (Standby/hibernate type of turn on setting). If i changed it to the slower turn on option i would never deal with this issue but it takes
quite some time for it to turn all the way on this way.

Even though you done power cycle which does this. I would like you try going to Settings>network>network settings>advanced settings> Alt mac address>clear and restart.

Hello Brad,

Ill give it a try when i get home. This issue isnt daily though so it’ll take a good week of using the xbox to see if this fixes it. Ill be in touch if it doesnt fix it in a week or so or earlier if it decides to do it to me again after trying this option.
Sounds like its does the same thing as a full restart (power cycle) so likely not going to fix it but worth a shot.

Hey Brock,

Sounds like the console would also benefit from doing a
Soft Factory Reset. The issue could be on the OS or a failed update, Give it a shot and let us know if it helped!

 

I’ll do this if the other suggestions dont work. Ill pick the option to keep all the games and saved files and just re-install the operating system if i need to do this option. Hopefully i dont since im sure this isnt a quick option. Never have i had any
issue installing any updates though so not having update issues that could be caused by corrupt files but could be something hidden away that doesnt affect operating system updates. I honestly think its still a software issue and not a corrupt operating system.
It is the only problem i ever have. It acts like my Ethernet port on the xbox one X turns off on its own randomly and takes a power cycle to reactivate. Its very odd

Did this and so far so good. Wont know for awhile since its not an everyday issue. I do know it took even longer to restart the xbox one x doing this. Took about twice as long as clicking restart or holding the button down on the xbox console for a long
time so maybe this will reset the network issues Ive had since i bought it.

Hello Brad,

This sadly didnt do the trick. Just turned the xbox on from sleep mode and no connection. Supposed to be automatic. Had to restart the xbox and connected right away with the long restart like it always does. Dont get what could be causing it.
