Xbox one X completely shuts off 30s into RDR2 gameplay

Hello all I'm in a bit of a pickle with this issue and was wondering if anyone else has had this happen. Couple of days ago, the night of Red Dead Redemption 2 release I purchased the game and began the download. I just let it download over night and jumped
on the next day. Fired the game up and managed to get through all of the beginning cut scenes, as soon as I am able to play within 30 to 45 seconds the xbox completely shuts off. It seems to actually power cycle the Xbox, like it has to boot back up when I
press the button again. It is in a well ventilated area and has not been hot to the touch so I know that shouldn't be an issue. It is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a power strip. I have tried reinstalling the game once, no luck with that. Yesterday
I spent a good hour and a half with xbox help chat, basically by the end of it we did a factory reset on the xbox which didnt seem to help whatsoever. The person on the chat thought this problem was odd and said they will work on it internally and get back
to me. This problem has only ever happened with this game never a different game. Has anyone ran into a similar issue?

Was having the same issue as everyone here. I resolved it this way:

Step 1: Shut my Xbox One X completely off (Home>System>Turn off console).

Step 2: Once my Xbox One X restarted, it signed in to Xbox Live just fine.

Xbox 360 shuts itself off after 30 seconds into gameplay (both off disc, and arcade games off of hard drive).

 

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
the console.

It may not help but it does resolve a lot of issues and is worth a try.

So seems like you have already attempted a "Power cycle" and "full reset"(Keeping games and apps?)? What I recommend to do is to Clear the System cache, and to do so you will:

> go to settings> System> Storage >Clear local games/ clear local 360< (Make sure you are connected to the internet)

Also, is this the only game that crashes the system? Please try Uninstalling your account then power cycle the console before adding your account back.

Ok so i just got through doing what you have suggested with clearing the System cache, still no luck, Xbox just completely shut off again. I forgot to mention when i did the online help chat uninstalling my account was part of the troubleshooting we did.

Sorry to hear about the console shutting off, let's try to get you back to the Wild West asap! If you haven't already, please try a

factory reset while keeping your games and apps by doing the following:

1. Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select All Settings.
4. Select System.
5. Select Console info & updates.
6. Select Reset console.
