Xbox One X: Chat Mixer/Sound Issues

Chat mixer on xbox one does not work properly, No matter what setting it is on i can still hear voice and game sounds the same. If i have it set all the way to game sounds i can still hear the voice chat just as loud if not louder. I have tried everything
found on xbox forums and youtube nothing has worked. We need a system update to fix this bug!!!!

Recently switched from Xbox One S to Xbox One X, ever since i have not had the option under “settings” in the system tab to manually set the mixer. Went out and purchased a brand new headset with a psychical chat mixer and that does nothing at all same issues.

Headsets that ive tried are Astro A40 by itself, then with the m60 mixer attachment, then with the mixamp pro tr (most expensive). And finally A40 + mixamp pro m80. None of these have fixed my issue and im tired of wasting my money.

How to access the audio setting for headsets:

Plug your headset into your controller

Press the Xbox button on the controller to pull up the guide

Press RB until you get to the gear icon on the far right

Below Settings should be Audio(where the chat mixer for headsets is located)

that option doesn't always show up.

if I use a standard controller or my Duke I have that Audio menu option but if I use my Afterglow controller the option isn't there.

Did you check the sound setup at output? I have an Astro A50 and they have worked like a charm, can you provide more details in order to helping you out....

Soft factory reset worked. I still dont have the audio option on system tab but from the controller i have the ability to go all the way to game chat and not hear the voice chat

No XBF Eladio M’s article did not help. No i am not enrolled with Xbox Insider Program. I am aware of how to locate audio setting. I dont have the option for audio anymore under system tab it disappeared after switching from One S to One X. I have done
hard resets before but let me try out your method for soft factory reset and i will get back to you

Xbox Insider Program? If your console is enrolled in the Xbox Insider Program, it is possible that this is an issue that needs to be

reported to the support team for the Xbox Insider Program. It appears as though your headset is working correctly, and is being detected by the console. Once a headset is plugged in, you should get the option to adjust the audio from the settings in the
guide. We will provide steps on how to locate the audio setting.

This may be a software glitch that can be resolved with
a soft factory reset. This will keep all games and applications installed, but it will remove all profiles from the console. Therefore, the email address and password for those accounts must be known before this step is taken. The soft factory reset will
allow your console to download the latest update and remove any corrupt data. Be sure to let us know the results!
