Xbox one “x” button not working

the x on the controller is not working everything else is fine, what can i do?

If you have not already done so can you please try a console restart to see if this helps with the problem. To restart the console press and hold the power button on the front of the console for 5-10 seconds and once the console has powered off remove the
power cable from the wall outlet for a couple of minutes, whilst waiting I would also remove the battery from the controller then try powering everything back up and see if this helps with the issue.

If this does not help if possible can you try connecting the controller to another Xbox One or Windows 10 PC to see what happens.

My Xbox one controller's X button does not work anymore. It is not stuck or anything it just isnt responding when i push it. I really dont want to have to buy a new controller, i dont have that money right now so if there is a way to fix it that would be

please try the manual power cycle steps like mentioned on the following link, be sure to wait at least 60 seconds and then disconnect the console from power, then wait another 60 seconds and after that reconnect power again and use the controller to power
the console on again (by Holding the Home button for a few seconds)

If that didn't fix the issue then be sure to check if there is an update available for the controller, if there is no update or the issue is still present then start the Xbox Accessories app and try resetting the controller button mapping to factory defaults

If nothing works then it seems like something is broken on the controller and you can check if there is warranty on the controller and set up a replacement or get a new one.
