    Xbox One X Button Not Working Properly


    This is my first time using this so please bare with me.

    My X button on my Xbox One S Controller is broken. It keeps spamming X even when the button itself is raised. I've tried cleaning it with multiple things; toothpicks, Qtips, even straws but the problem still persists.

    I've reset the controller three times, but can't log in onto my account because it keeps spamming X and it's my only controller. I don't know what to do, is there a way I can fix it or will I have to buy a new one?

    I live in Australia so unfortunately there isn't a Walmart I can go to and replacement controllers are pretty expensive, I do think you're right about my controller wearing out :(

    Hi KinniKitty!

    To me it sounds like your controller X button has wore out. Occasionally that will happen, for me it was the 'Up' on my D-Pad fortunately they have reduced the costs of the controllers 20 bucks for some. I picked up a Blue one at Walmart for 40$! You should
    keep your old controller though in case another controller breaks and you can use one for parts! Hope that helps! GLGG!

    Just an update in order to help other players that could experience the same issue...

    1) If you start your xbox one, by controller or by the X lighter button, and then you launch Fortnite with the headset unplugged from your controller, then your headset will not works properly.

    2) If you start your xbox one only by the X lighter button, then you plug the headset into the controller and then you start your controller with the X button, after starting Fortnite your headset will works properly.

    It seems that controller and headset must be started together, after having started your xbox one, but before launching Fortnite.

    I hope this can help.
