    Xbox One X boots to black screen


    I'm in the alpha skip. As title says I am booting to a black screen. I have done several hard resets so far. I get the opening splash followed by the green screen. It sits on that screen for a very long time and when it finally progresses it does so to a black screen. There is no sound no signs of activity.

    Microsoft haven't said it is. I believe the green Xbox One startup screen will stay, and the Xbox Series X/S will get the new Xbox boot up screen.

    Are you sure the console was not just completing an update?There have been a few system updates recently and you may have turned on the console at the restart stage of an update.

    What if I never download system updates?

    Then your system wouldn't be up to date and some features may fail too run properly.
    My system isn't up to date and everything is working fine - as long as I leave the internal HDD alone.

    All games and apps are being run by the external HDD.

    Console boots up fine as well - but just a black screen. No One-x chipset animation or xbox one green screen.
