Xbox One X audio delay at startup

Starting about a month ago my xbox one x boots up without sound...around a minute or so later the sound comes on and never has an issue again as long as the sustem is on. I turn the system on and start it the next day same issue. The problem is not in
my receiver as other inputs give immediate sound. Its not the tv signal as there is no sound from the xbox or thr tv. I tried doing a reset except for apps and that didnt do the trick. The interesting thing is you can see on my receiver that there is no
audio signal coming from the Xbox until around a minute or so later and then the dolby digital signal blinks in and out and then on with no issues from that point forward. I can find nothing online abiut this issue. Hopeong somwone else here has delt with
it.

If you say the audio delay happens on the Home Screen as well:

My Xbox One X sometimes has temporary delays if it's installing a downloaded game, as long as it's working on the hard drive. After that, the lag and delay is gone.

So can you restart your console by holding the power button on the console for about 10 seconds and then restarting the console. Make sure the console shows a green startup screen with the Xbox One logo during the boot sequence, and after the restart, that
it doesn't have any downloads in the queue.

If the delays are gone in the Home Screen but not the YouTube App, you might have to contact the YouTube support, as they are responsible for what their app is doing. Microsoft only provides the marketplace to download the app, but has nothing to do with
how the app works.

Also: Is your console enrolled in the Insider Preview program?

Sky HD box to Xbox One input, xbox output to tv. no splitters. I have no external sound system so delay is on hdmi audio. Sky HD direct to TV has no audio/video sync issues, audio delay is only present with Xbox one in the circuit.

In the first instance I would try using a TOSlink optical cable to connect the Xbox One X directly to the soundbar and seeing if that makes a difference to the delay by simplifying the signal run for the audio.

Interesting post, thank you for trying and posting your findings.

I've had the audio delay issue for years and tried everything. I had the nu8000 Samsung TV before and recently got the qn90b and the issue is still present.

My set up is, Xbox series x > qn90b > onkyo 676.

If I do 5.1, stereo uncompressed, mono, there's no delay. There is only an audio delay with dolby atmos for home theatre option.

Your suggestion does not work on my end however, because the only way I can set the qn90b to pass-through is if I unselect the dolby atmos option under it, which allows me to change audio output format from auto or pcm, to pass-through but when I do that, the Xbox series x no longer detects my set up as dolby 5.1/7.1/atmls capable and says not supported so I can't even force the Xbox to output atmos.

As for the qn90b audio delay option, it's already at 0, and the delay is very noticeable in shooter games, but especially while watching movie.
