    Xbox One X - Asus ROG Strix XG43UQ - No HDR


    Hi All - wondered if anyone else has the new Asus monitor and if they had used it on the One X ... I have 4k 60Hz but the Asus has HDR greyed out in the OSD and the xbox settings TV details say it doesnt support HDR10 for gaming.

    The monitor specs say otherwise along with the advertising... I'm using the ASUS hdmi 2.1 cable. and all the xbox settings were working fine on my 2 year old samsung 4k/hdr tv.

    Any suggestions / help appreciated, just want to get HDR up and running

    Hi there,

    I think that it might be determined by the monitor itself and if that has options to stretch the resolution or not.

    There are no settings on the Xbox One X that will allow you to change anything like the position with etc.

    Hi,

    Unfortunately the Asus ROG Strix XG279Q is limited to 60Hz with HDR, it's a limitation of the monitor hardware. It will either be HDR on or off I'm afraid.

    A lot of gaming monitors have quite poor HDR, with low peak brightness. The "HDR" feature on a lot of monitors is a selling point that customers expect to see, rather than it being actually good. Also this monitor has a lot more input lag at 60Hz with HDR
    enabled.

    I would drop HDR and enjoy 1440P at 120Hz as a better option. Making sure you also enable Variable Refresh Rate.

    I got the same problem, with Horizon 3 and ReCore, but other games on steam etc. are running.

    Hardware isnt the problem... :D
