Xbox One X Artifacting

I turned on my One X today and from start up the console is artifacting, showing shapes of color distortion across part of the screen. The console worked fine yesterday, and hasn't been moved in a couple months. The tv works fine showing no display issues
in apps like Youtube or Amazon Video. I browsed some forums and per peoples advice I unplugged and reconnected the HDMI cable on both the box and the tv, unplugged it from the surge protector and plugged it into the wall outlet, and restarted both the console
and tv. Nothing has corrected the issue. Any advice?

You are basically talking about "picture" quality, which is "slightly" different (Im yet to see any single artifact btw for "picture" quality). But then the image quality is mostly determined by the level of detail used to render the image and the time used to render it. It happens that in many games the X version is on par with PC ultra settings and the One version is on par with medium/low settings, and not only that, X achieving a perfectly stable FPS or 60 and One struggling to keep 30. Streamed X would be always over One for all these cases, the same as PC gaming Rig streaming would be again always well over One unless the game is so light that One handles it perfectly and there are no more details, texture quality, visual horizon and extra effects for X or gaming PC version. I always stream X to PC at 1080 and One reach 1080 only in some cases, just as an example.Click to expand... Picture/image quality is the same thing as far as a developer's standpoint goes. Perhaps you want to talk about the rendering quality? Either way, it doesn't fucking matter what the hell you want to call it, because the artifacting will affect all of it. Once the image starts to degrade, the rendering quality starts going along with it by nature. As for "I'm yet to see any single artifact", you're either full of shit, or you don't know what artifacting is. Again, I've worked closely with Microsoft developers on streaming to PC. Artifacting is one of the things I worked with them on reducing. They know it exist. Anyone that knows how streaming media works knows it exists. Yet here you are claiming it doesn't.

XBOX 360 Hardware issues?

Sounds like a hardware issue if it's "breaking up" and "pixellating" as you say, as games put more strain on the hardware than movies. Possibly the graphics chip is becoming defective if what you're seeing is

GPU artifacting. In this case, the only course of action is to have the Xbox 360
repaired by Microsoft (if it's still under warranty), or replaced entirely.

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. This issue could be either hardware or software based. The best way to rule out the software portion of the issue is to do a

soft factory reset. Make sure "Keep My Games & Apps" is the option that is selected when completing the soft factory reset. Also, ensure that you know the email addresses and passwords for all accounts on the console in order to recover them. If the issue
persists after the reset is done, we will continue by troubleshooting the hardware portion of the console. Be sure to let us know the results!

I don't have another one. Is there anything special about the xbox one x hdmi cable or can it be replaced by any hdmi?

After posting I went out on some errands. I was going to try your fix when I got home, but now I'm not having the issue. The console has been on for 30 minutes now with out artifacting. Any idea?

You cant use any HDMI cable. But my recommendation that the cable has High Speed. Another thing you can do is put the xbox on another TV. If continue with the problem it may be the HDMI cable or the "xbox".
