Xbox One X and Lg Sk8y soundbar Dolby atmos

so I have an Xbox one X and an Lg sk8y soundbar that supports atmos. I have it ran to my TCl R615 through the hdmi arc and the xbox one x plugged into the tv. I cant pickup atmos for some reason, i can get it when i plug the xbox straight to the soundbar
but it doesn’t passthrough 4k. Is there someway how to fix this?

Sorry to hear it. At this time I'm afraid the only way to get Atmos to the sound bar is to direct connect it to the console. If you have multiple connection options for your sound bar I would suggest looking into connecting it separately for the Xbox.

For a little more information the Dolby Engineers have posted an article about Atmos over HDMI ARC.

It appears that ARC has some limitations that do not play well with Atmos.

I have nearly the exact same setup and problem. I can either connect the Xbox One X directly to the soundbar for Atmos but then I can’t get 4K video. If I connect it using ARC I can get 4K picture but not Atmos sound. This is so frustrating

Unfortunately, to be honest you're not getting anything close to Atmos with a soundbar anyway.
