  2. Hard Drive Question

The Xbox One X has a 7200rpm internal hdd - Xone and S use 5200rpm. This makes little difference running games, but, but initial loads may be slightly slower on an external 5200 drive compared to the internal drive of the X, but
    it depends on the game.

I'm getting an Xbox One X and I still intend to use my 1TB external drive for a while yet as it worked fine on my original Xbox One.

It was confirmed last night that any current external hard drive will work with the Xbox One X, however you may want to consider moving some of the games you play often over to the Xbox One X internal hard drive as it will probably load games quicker from
internal HDD than your external one.

It should work. Xbox One X does have USB ports, right? Xbox One didn't have external HDD support at launch. It didn't get released until an update a couple of weeks later. My day 1 console is only a 500GB one. Also have a Seagate Slim 1TB HDD. I have 34
games on Xbox One but due to my schedule don't get much time to play them. I just stick to the games my friends play all the time. And yay, we have a mod in the house. Haven't seen one of those in weeks. Whether you want to keep your games on console or your
external HDD is up to you. There can be external HDD's which are faster than the is it 5400rpm HDD on the console. It's not like the console has a 1TB SSD which would drastically load games quicker. Though there may be less latency with using the internal
console HDD. And since Microsoft lets us post pictures on here, I'll post a picture of what my external HDD looks like...

  7. Like others are saying your external hard drive will work with the Xbox One X. Also Mike Ybara has said on twitter that for anybody wanting to be ready ahead of time for Xbox One X we will be able to get the the 4k update patches
for our games before Nov 7 2017 . Especially good for people that have to watch how much they download per month and also slow internet speeds.

  10. Also, being usb 3... chances are your EXTERNAL hdd will have a FASTER transfer rate than internal hdd... odd but true

  11. Are you sure?

Normal PC today with SATA 3 is 6 Gbps bus speed - would X1X be less?

USB 3 is 5 Gbps as I believe, and you can extend normal PC with PCI Express 2.0 with card to support USB 3 and not loose performance.

And if being normal hdd, your read/write speed from/to physical disk is much slower than interface suggest.

So in total external would be perceived as the same or allowed to be the same - which is good enough.

  12. On pc sure ... but defo faster transfer rate on the one. Unless they've suped up the x hdd transfer rate on usb 3 still faster I think... but don't quote me on it lol

    How do we know that?

I mean, code from 360 is not compatible with X1 - is code hardware compatible for X1 and X1X?

For 360 you need to download completely new code and an emulator - how is it with BC for X1 and X1X running X1 games?

This is one of the big Q's if to get X1X for me.

Will it like PC have a X1 BC checkbox to be compatible with previosu OS?

For PC it is a checkbox for Windows 8 compatibilty, or XP compatibility etc.
