Xbox One X and controller issues

Hi everyone. So I am going to try and keep this as short as possible

I bought an Xbox One X from Amazon in December 2017 and had no problems with it until 9 months later. Basically my console shut down by itself and what followed was constant controller disconnections. However this was different to the flashing light that
would indicate the controller is not connected. The controller light stays on as if it's synced to the console but the controller becomes unresponsive and my games would inform me that no controller was connected... Yet the light is stable.

I ended up replacing my console as I could not deal with the issue any longer and eventually my new Xbox one x arrived... Only to do exactly the same thing. I've had this problem since September. Here's what I've tried and yes, this all has not fixed my
issue.

1. Hard reset (unplugging everything)

2. Reset the console to factory default but keep games and apps

3. Reset console to factory default, remove games and apps

4. Moved Xbox away from any interference

5. Bought a brand new charge and play kit eliminating battery issues

6. Used different controllers, new and old.

7. Synced controllers to other Xbox consoles in the house and synced it back to the xbox

8. Tried updating controller

9. Wired controller is a temporary fix.

10. Replaced console

I've read that I'm not the only one with this issue, there have been many people echoing my issue on Twitter and it seems be a problem with the Xbox one x. I can't be that unlucky to get two Xbox one x consoles that both have the exact same issue. I believe
a possible update to the console or controllers would maybe fix it but who knows?

If you guys have any fixes that I've not tried let me know and if your having the same issue please comment as it will help resolve the issue with all of us affected.

Controller becoming unresponsive

I'm having the same issues, used my Elite controller form my other Xbox and it works fine, just my Xbox One X controller acting up, hope someone or Microsoft has a fix.

 

Xbox one x usb hub and controller issues

i should clarify, the hubs and controller charging works as expected when the console is on. There seems to be some type of polling on the ports or something when the console is off.

 

Sorry to hear it. First, I would recommend connecting the controller via a USB cable and then head over to Settings to make sure it is updated properly.

I've had this issue with a console in the past. What I did was to hold the sync buttons on both the console and controller for at least 60 seconds before letting them go. This did work for me so hopefully it will work for you as well.

 

Thank you for your reply. I have tried this already. Controller doesn't need an update and I've tried syncing it like that before. Don't know why this is happening? Thanks for the suggestion though.

I appreciate you bringing this situation to the forums attention. It is recommended that all Xbox Consoles be connected directly into a wall outlet and not a multiplug. Asides from that with all the troubleshooting steps you've listed and tried it is possible
that your console make have a damaged internal component and would need to be serviced. Check out your options here: Getting your
Xbox console or Kinect sensor serviced.

I did use two different Xbox one x consoles. So I don't believe there's something wrong with my console. I have joined the previews program and did the update and that seems to have sorted it out for now. But I will keep everyone posted about my situation
For now it's way too early to tell.

 

Guys since I joined the previews I thought the update would have fixed it. It has not... My controller has done it again and this time it has on wired. I am at a loss for words.
