    Xbox One X - 5 GHz Wi-Fi Issue

    Hi,

since upgrading to Xbox One X I used to connect to the internet with 5 GHz (frequency) home Wi-Fi (the router is right next to my console) and I haven't had any problem. However, since like 10 days ago, my console isn't all of a sudden able to connect to
the 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Xbox identifies the network but it returns "can't connect to the wireless network" error when trying to connect to it.

It connects to the 2.4 GHz network without any issue though.

My other devices connect to the 5 GHz network just fine.

I would like to know if I should send the console for repair or if there is any way to make it work again.

I have already tried to: change SSID and password, change security setting, check that MAC filtering is turned off, factory reset xbox, alternate MAC adress, disconnect and restart router.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    :)

When I remote play on my mobile device I get try again in a while error message

Yes, it could be the case!

If you're on a wireless network, make sure you're on a 5 GHz network, not 2.4 GHz (on a 2.4 GHz wireless network you may see some interference). See Using a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network below.

You can also try a different connection network to see if it corrects the issue!

If your console is next to your router, why not use wired connection. Much better over all for online play.

Try performing a hard reset EXACTLY like this. Hold the power button on the console for 8 seconds or until the power shuts down completely.
Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.
Plug the power cord back in and restart the console.

have you tried "going offline" on the console and reconnecting? I noticed that sometimes i need to do this to fix my NAT type and wifi connection issues.
