Xbox One X 4k Display on Monitor?

I have an Acer B286HK monitor that is capable of displaying 4k resolution. My issue is that I can't seem to get my Xbox One X to display 4k through it, their customer support says it has to use a DP Cable...now from what I see the Xbox One X does not
have a DP port to use, when I told them that THEN they tell me it won't work -_- There has got to be a way to get my Xbox to display 4k on a monitor that is 4k capable, if not this one I need suggestions.

    :)

  2. XBOX ONE X HDR look dark and blurry with "TCL 55P605" TV ?

The TCL website has some instructions on how to configure your TV to let the Xbox One X fully utilize 4K: TCL | America’s Fastest Growing TV Brand

Verify that your TV is capable of HDR by going to the Xbox One X display settings and open "4K TV details".

In the Xbox One X display settings, ensure you have "color depth" set to at least "30 bits per pixel (10-bit)" to enable HDR.

    Resolution and Fps

    It depends on the game.

The Xbox One X will be able to display 4K 60 FSP (Forza 7)

Xbox One X 4k Display on Monitor?

    Hi there,

since their customer support says you will have to use a DisplayPort cable it means that only the DP port on the monitor will support 4k.

Which results in that the only way you can output 4k via the Xbox One on that monitor will be by using a HDMI to DP adapter. Keep in mind that it needs to be HDMI to DP and not the other way around.

They do exist but they likely will have some limitations, like a max refresh rate or certain options like freesynch not being an option (if the monitor itself supports it)

  6. Hi,

No sorry, that won't work for 4K. The reason being that the adaptor only supports 4K (3840x2160) at 30Hz. Full 4K on the One X and One S requires a 60Hz refresh rate.

If your monitor supports 2560x1440 then this adaptor may work at this resolution for you. I really can't say for sure though. While 2560x1440 is now supported on the Xbox One X, it all depends whether the console picks that up as an option using this cable.
    Otherwise you'll be limited to 1080P (1920x1080).

4K 60Hz support is common for DP to HDMI, but not, as it would seem, the other way round.

So I'm just confused as to what to buy now, I purchased that adaptor to try. The Monitor is fully capable of displaying 4k, I just need a way to get the Xbox to do that through the monitor. Specific tech recommendations are appreciated if any are known/viable.
More or less what do i need to get this putting out 4k the way it's suppose to on that monitor?

Xbox One X Scorpio Edition Going well

Ok folks to give you an update and I need some help.

I finally got round to connecting up my xbox X to my Acer Predator XB281HK 4K monitor, via HDMI. only to realise my monitor is HDMI 1.4. Xbox is HDMI 2.0. which means I cannot get 60Hz 4K. My pc is also connected to this monitor but via Display port. Which
is fine and running at 4K. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get 4K running on my current monitor. Is it worth me getting a HDMI to display port cable and giving that a go which means I will need to buy some sort of switch, so I can go between
PC and xbox on one display port. Or can someone suggest a good 4K gaming monitor that will be compatible with my XBOX X and PC.

Xbox One X vs Xbox One S

It depends on what your budget is

If you have a 1080p screen and don't care about 4K-- then the X is not for you. But if you like all that horsepower under the hood and are overwhelmed and overjoyed what Xbox One X can do... then you should be looking at purchasing an Xbox One X.

Even if you have a 1080p monitor or TV... the Xbox One X will look great on any 1080p screen.

If you're on a tight budget and can only get the console right away... I will wait until you have more money saved up and a get 4K display down the line.

    4K displays have dropped significantly.

Unless, you already own a 4K display... then it's a win, win.

4k portable monitor doesn't work with Xbox Series X. Something to do with YCC 4.2.2

It doesn't need to claim to be compatible, the monitor states it can do 4k all 4k monitors are compatible with ps5 and xbox series x. It's technology and science, backwards compatibility, the engineers even stated it worked fine on xbox series x, so they lied to me? There are even answers saying its compatible with The 4K portable monitor is compatible with Xbox series s, it states in the answers.

    Even stated

Q: Would this work with nintendo switch and ps5?
A: Yes it works with any device with an HDMI port.

The reason it might not have stated this in description is the release of this monitor came out before ps5 and xbox S/X. All HDMI tv's are backwards compatible and future proof based on the capabilities of ther monitor, 4k thus 4k devices. I just know this monitor is being oversold as a true 4k monitor when clearly it's not, I believe the IPS screen is not 2160p just the electronics are perhaps set to 1800p, if the display is not a native 2160p then it's not 4k correct?

That meaning if it goes out of sync on occasion then it can't be a true 2160p display.

    Xbox upgrade

if you have monitor or 4k display the best option is to switch to xbox one x (since it is very possible that you have more support time than the other versions of xbox one), but if you don't already have 4k technology it may be to wait for scarlett and
    update your screens
