Xbox One X ‘4K Clip’ lag

Hi,

Had my One X for about a month now after having an original for a few years and I’ve got to say I am very impressed.

I do have a minor niggle with it though, it doesn’t affect the performance in any way.

During the ‘4K chip’ startup clip, the frame rate drops through the floor, lags like hell and sometimes the sound clip triggers late. Anyone else get this? Or any ideas what might be causing it?

I don’t have an external drive plugged in or any other peripheral, and startup is in Energy Saving mode.

Unfortunately you can only share gameplay clips on Xbox Live, OneDrive, or Twitter at this time directly from your Xbox. Uploading to YouTube from the Xbox is currently not available.

You should be able to edit 4K clips in upload studio granted you have an Xbox One X. The only difference between 4K clips and normal clips is that 4K clips are limited to 30 seconds but editing them should all be the same.

I'm not sure exactly when 4K recordings stopped working properly because I switched back to 1080P recordings for the longer clip length of 1 or 2 minutes on my Project Scorpio Xbox One X.

The 4K clips may be broken now because they might have made a change in the way that they are captured and/or prepared. Now there is a notification that the clip is being prepared which I don't remember previously (they might have just been captured originally,
this step doesn't happen for 1080P clips). The 4K preparing process may be what is broken in the newer Dashboard releases.

Unfortunately I have not yet seen an updated Dashboard release that fixes the 4K clip issue.

Although both the Xbox One S and the Xbox One X can both stream 4K, only the One X is capable of true 4K gaming. I would recommend the XBox One X over the XBox One S because it only one that can truly do 4K gaming! The XBox One S can upscale 1080p games
to 4K but isn’t a real 4K console, although it can play Blu-Ray in 4K. The XBox One X is the first console to truly be able to stream 4K gaming, plus it has a Ultra HD 4K Blu-ray player!

Will I see a difference in graphics with the new X Box on my 4K?

Xbox Series X will release Holiday 2020, given Xbox's track record of releasing new consoles, they've usually been around November.

It will have Blu-Ray.

With the Xbox One X, it uses checkerboarding to get 4K resolution, though it's not true 4K, it's what allows the One X to get to 4K,

With the Xbox Series X, it will use true native 4K, you may see that the Series X will look a little better at 4K than the One X at 4K.
