  1. Xbox One X - 4K Blu-Ray Atmos Issue

Over the last couple days, I've noticed random pops and clicks coming out of my soundbar when playing a Dolby Atmos soundtrack from a 4K Blu-Ray. This only occurs when playing from a disc and not streaming Atmos content from Netflix or playing Atmos-enabled
games. This also doesn't happen when playing a different soundtrack on the same disc, like the 5.1 French track for example. I've tried swapping HDMI cables and re-pairing my soundbar with the surrounds. I haven't had any issues playing with any non-Xbox
content, so that should rule out the TV/soundbar having a problem.

I've watched nearly 50 movies (several with an Atmos track) using my current setup without issue until this weekend. Then, it happened on all three movies with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack. I tried other movies with a DTS:X track and there's no issue there,
so there must be some new issue with Atmos on the Xbox One X. Any suggestions?

    :)

Xbox One S Dolby Atmos Support

Hi guys i have just bought a dolby atmos sound bar but now the 4k blu ray says no hdr device.

The picture is much worse as minus hdr but the sound is very decent.

    My set up is

    tv 55 sony xe90

    xbox one S

sony ht xf9000 dolby atmos virtual surround bar and sub woofer

    + 4k blu ray.

    all cables 2.0 hdmi.

Any ideas why now it wont play 4k blu ray in HDR?

    The Xbox One S 4K Blu-Ray Player Is A Disaster...Good Job!!

There are a number of AV issues with the Xbox One S/X and UHD Blu-ray playback, your guess is as good as mine if they will be fixed.

Certain UHD titles are broken and will not play.

    Dolby Atmos is unreliable.

4K AV receiver HDMI handshaking issues.

Image quality issues, the wrong color matrix being used in Blu-ray playback (see review comparison

    in link
    ).

They could have broken something on the One S in their rush to fix the broken Blu-ray HDR on the One X with the 10.0.16299.4037 that includes said HDR fix.

    4K content

Xbox One and Xbox One S are 1080P Gaming

Xbox One S will play 4K Blu Ray's

Xbox One X will play Game in 4K if they are Enhanced with 4K Support + 4k Blu Ray support

They Xbox One X will also Upscale on a 1080p screen so you will see some benefit of the Xbox One X

    4K Passthrough?

I saw it has HDMI 2.0B thingy on this site.

If say you connect an Xbox One X to your 4K HDTV, you should still be able to:

    1. Download the YouTube and Netflix apps, onto your Xbox One X, and still be able to watch in 4k 60fps?

    2. Use Xbox One X 4k Blu-ray player to watch 4k Blu-ray disc movies in 4k 60fps?

    3. Play games on Xbox One X, in 4k 60fps?

    .... right?

Xbox One X, Dolby Atmos Not Working, Makes Distorted Crackling Sound

    Update:

I have now tried a 4K Blu-ray disk and can confirm that Dolby Atmos works with it. I used the AVR Key so HDR would go to my LG OLED TV and the Dolby Atmos Sound would go to my non-HDCP2.2 Marantz SR7009 Receiver. I now believe the problem is with the Dolby
Access App and not with the Xbox One X's operating system itself since the 4K Blu-ray would send its own Dolby Atmos track to the receiver bypassing the Dolby Access App. Where with Games and the Demo's in the Dolby Access App are using that App to process
the Dolby Atmos signal. Thus I believe it is a problem with the Dolby Access App, but i don't know how that ties into the operating system or how the Blu-ray player app integrates with the Xbox's operating system or bypasses it because of that pass-through
setting that lets the receiver process the Atmos Signal. Either way I have concluded there is nothing more I can do, it's definitely an issue with either the operating system or Dolby Access App having compatibility issues.
