XBOX One X 2007 will not start

Hello,

After my son did an umpteenth update of the console, the console did not want to turn on and the screen was black.

He reinitialized the console and we finally got the screen back but then it just won't start up...

And every time he does a reinitialization of the console a new error appears and requests the reinitialization of the console.

We also did the reinitialization via USB key and that didn't work any better.

List of errors:

E102 - E101 - E106

The console was bought in 2017 and so is now 3 years old. Is it normal that we have had repeated problems with this box ever since the beginning and now after all that money spent, it just no longer works?

Is there any hope in resolving this issue once and for all or is the console dead forever?

Yes, we did to the USB update and no results unfortunately.

XBox is not able to take on any new online service but they are giving me the option to send the console for repair for 250euros. And I certainly do not want to do that before talking to someone first. I don't want to pay 250€ for something that will continously
malfunction.

Out of curiosity, do you know what size hard drive is in the console? I'm wondering if it is a smaller drive and not able to handle the needs of the update packages. I know it sounds crazy and dumb, but I'm seeing a lot of discussion about hard drives with
regards to the E106 error.

If you have a USB flash drive, you might be able to download the OSU1 update and try re-installing from scratch, but I don't know for certain that will work. If there is an actual malfunction of the hard drive (be it too many bad sectors over time, mechanical
failure, or bandwidth connection issue), then it may need to be physically repaired which might not be very cheap, unfortunately.

Sorry to hear about the console issues you're having. For what it's worth, it is not normal to have repeated problems in the first three years of your purchase. While no company has a 100% perfect success rate with all of their millions of manufactured components,
it is reasonably expected to work as designed for at least the duration of the warranty period and, if things were going well through that, then it likely will be fine for at least a few years before components may start to fail.

Thanks so much. We tried to contact someone online and to ask for a call back but they are not allowing us to complete the online form because they have too many calls and are sbumerged... That is why I turned to the online community.

The Wireless Gaming Receiver for 360 controllers was released February, 2007. Think you'll have to wait until 2015 before you can start complaining that there isn't one for Xbox One.
