same issue, that code and 80040200 when I tried to use cortona to shut off Xbox. I have the Xbox one x. Never had this issue with the s version. And the error codes don’t pull up on error code lookup

 

Um, no. I don't mind talking to my console, but the day it starts talking back to me is the day I run for the hills. Haven't you ever seen 2001: A Space Odyssey?

Well if it did it would not be HAL. I for one think the Xbox One having a personal assistant feature sounds attractive.

 

Can you imagine if it was GLaDOS instead! Hahaha.

 

I was expecting to see something like that sooner rather than later, while watching Microsoft's 2013 BUILD conference - some interesting talks about more app & Office integration, and other non-game things to do on your Xbox One. Shortly afterwards, though,
was the (probably for the best) decision to focus 100% on games games games.

I'm sure the integrated future will still be arriving; whether it's still with the Xbox One remains to be seen. I'd be all for Cortana in the living room, taking down new calendar appointments and scheduling the week for me, while I sip some coffee and snap
over to a quick round of Titanfall. Finish the game, then tell Cortana to pull up the traffic map to display my best route for the day's commute - then head on out the door. Aside from Titanfall, all the above is a trivial exercise on my WindowsPhone already.
Obviously right now consumers are placing a much higher priority on what they perceive as a game-only console. I'm definitely looking forward to using all the other possibilities, once the gaming side has settled down some.

 

I still don't know why M has Voice Commands locked for NZ locale. I have to switch it to Australia locale to unlock it and it works fairly well. If it can pick me up visually there's no need for this dialects/accent excuse even UK/Australian accents can
be tricky for software. Australia is only 2 hours behind NZ time. I have a Samsung S5 and it has voice recognition and picks me up well and it talks back to me and is available by default in even NZ. Even though Americans think Australians/NZ'rs sound British
while I guess we may in a way since our countries were colonized by Britain. Maybe a Siri or computer voice would be interesting if Xbox Voice Recognition had it. It's 2014 so maybe it's a bit too early for a Cortana AI to be running Xbox. Maybe next gen?

I Wikipedia'd the title. I'm not into those kinds of films it's probably suited for older peps I've seen my aunt read some romantic novels. There are other ways for doing you know what.

It would be cool though if Xbox 1's Kinect could at least talk back to you in a male or female voice, instead of feeling like your talking to thin air. You do hear an Xbox tune though when doing voice commands. My phone talks back to me. It would be just
more fun if Xbox 1 would do the same.

Romance themed movies are not my thing. Also, Hal comes to mind. His oddly friendly voice masking diabolical independent thought. No thank you. I want my machines to stay as they are.

 

You guys seem to be missing my point - romance aside, the film showcases what technology in the future can become in terms of how you do every-day things with a computer that responds vocally towards you.

 

I personally would prefer jarvis from iron man. Of some sort of witty banter. Me "Xbox box turn on"

I was looking forward to Cortana on Windows Phone, actually had be considering buying one. Then they said that here in the UK we would get a localised voice and not that of Jen Taylor.
